Best Camp Letter Ever
Filed under: Amazing Kids, Funny Stuff
Credit: Gary Drevitch
When ParentDish writer Gary Drevitch got a letter this week from his son, a happy camper in his first summer at sleepaway, he had to share it.
Nine-year-old Ben did an amazing job of getting right to the heart of what every parent wants to hear.
Now we're looking forward to the next one. We predict something along the lines of: "I love bug juice, baseball and Rebecca."
Stay tuned.

Gotta love the direct, simplistic nature of the "letter."

Sharon said...Where the h**l is the letter?! I can't find it or a link to get to it!!! The only link is one that says "Gary Drevitch", and when clicking on that, that's a story about a "Father-of-the-year", but no letter from a kid at camp!! At the bottom of the paragraph describing this supposedly outstanding letter is a link, stating "Related: P. S. I hate it here", but not the letter this article is talking about. So, how does one actually get to read it?!

All of this was done to allow you to show the world your abilities to communicate and display your marvelous sense of humor. Keep up the good work Sharon.

had you bothered to read the fine print, it's not supposed to be 'beer" but Ben, as the child is signing his name.

GJ said...I clicked on the link "Gary Drevitch" to read more about the author and noticed it lists his family (wife, children) but it doesn't list a 9 year old son named Ben. None of his children are listed as being 9 years old. Would love to read an explanation why.

WalkerBRW said...No wonder people are amazed at this nine-year-old's letter. Some people can neither read, write, nor understand the stories they click on. When you click on the link "Gary Drevitch" it is a story about Orrin Hudson's family, not Gary's family, and NOT a joke!
Unbelievable!

WTF said...This is why society is so f*#ked up. People take the tiniest little thing and make it into a major issue. I love camp. Ben. That's it, nothing more.

Jon Kaufmann said...This note is from Gary's 9 year old son Ben. The article that Gary's name links to is about a man named Orrin Hudson who teaches chess to youngsters, to help keep them out of trouble. Someone once did the same for him and it turned his life around.
Did I summarize the story and questions correctly?
