I never caught and killed animals but i pretended to. I did drink water from the creek, yuk! I drank it from a small waterfall cause i remembered that it was cleaner coming off the rocks. LOL That waterfall was about a 2 foot drop in the creek. the fun i had pretending to shoot an animal with my bow and arrow, a stick with rope tied to it. my mom worked 3rd shift and my brother and sister were older and always gone so more than once i would set up a tent with a sheet and sleep there cause that is where i lived, lol. I loved that "mountain". Then they built a walmart there and i had to stop my adventures. I loved being a tomboy.

The campground owner would fit all the kids in the campground into his pickup when he picked up trash from the sites, and take us for a joyride that included doing donuts in a field. We would pick wild stawberries and blueberries. My mom hated cooking over a fire and sleeping in tents, but my sisters and I will always remember it fondly.

I remember being freaked out by bugs and roughing it but also delighted at the gorgeous skies lit up by stars at night, the smores, and the lovely flowers we encountered on the hike!

We drove 2 days straight in an RV, I did nothing but sit in the back & listen to cassettes, sleep, eat & read. It was the middle of winter when we had borrowed the camper from a family friend. They insisted that they had cleaned out the restroom tank, but we found out the hard way. We were on the causeway at the time, the smell seeped up onto use after another family member used it. Worse news, the RV windows were nailed shut in the back. Even more bad news, we were on the causeway & had nowhere to pull over. The adventure got even better when my father was attacked by birds at the beach after buying fries. It got even better when the camper broke down in Jacksonville. We had a whole 25 minutes at the beach on that Florida trip (we had stayed in Orlando). My cousin & I did find some quarters & bottles caps with our metal detector, too. At the time I didn't believe my mother that Santa would find us all the way down in Orlando - I couldn't have been more wrong! What a great Christmas. I can still remember the vacation so vividly. Sometimes it's the silly or the bad that make a vacation most memorable.

I watched everything around us in anticipation and with a awe that only a child would have. I've always thought of that day as special.

Me and a friend of mine thought it a good idea to try to ride a bull after seeing a rodeo. We got in the cow field and went to see the bull. It just stood there at first, I guess it wasn't too happy about us trying to ride it. My friend took off across the field, me following and the bull following right behind us. I made it to the barn and climbed up in the hay loft. It took three hours before I could get out of that loft. My friend went and got my grandfather. They had to lead the bull back into the barn. Boy was that an adventure. lol.
