Nobody said saving the planet was easy, but actors Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts know certain sacrifices must be made.
Rather than buying new clothes, they sometimes have their 19-month-old son wear things previously worn by their 2-year-old.
CBS News is not making this stuff up. "Kai wears Sasha's clothes," Schreiber tells the network point blank.
There will be a slight pause now so you can all catch your breaths.
CBS News reports Schreiber made this revelation while taking part in "The Darker Side of Green," a debate on climate change issues, held July 27 in New York City.
Of course, the use of these "hand-me-downs" has long been something of a quaint folk art among people without film careers. However, it is now sufficiently revolutionary to mention as an "Earth-smart parent tactic" in public debates on protecting the environment.
By the way, the Wall Street Journal chimed in on the story, adding that Schreiber also reduces his carbon footprint by riding a scooter from time to time.
Schrieber is the actor who transported Hugh Jackman through time in "Kate and Leopold" only to try to vivisect him eight years later in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." Watts is perhaps best known for being the "King Kong" actress who is not Fay Wray or Jessica Lange.
The debate on global warming was one of a series of such forums sponsored by the automobile manufacturer Lexus -- bringing together people like Sarah Silverman, Tracy Morgan and Demi Moore's daughter Rumer Willis to address threats to the environment.

Heidi said...Younger siblings wearing an older sibling's clothing is not new. Celebrities admitting it is. The Jolie-Pitt kids do too. I imagine, because they are the same gender, that the Rossdale/Stefani kids do too. This is not news - it is common sense.
