He was so excited to go through the list & check off each task as he completed them.
Wake up
Eat breakfast
Brush teeth & clean face
Get Dressed
Get Backpack ready
Then off to school in mom's taxi :)

kara said...Getting ready, with the school supply shopping.
Next, is the school clothes shopping.
Then there is the last fun getaway from home before school, this year it was stay close and go to the zoo day.
Then there is the make the shopping list of food, for the first day of school breakfast, pack lunches for the week and what healthy snacks will be available when the kids get home.
The night before is the pick out an outfit, and back pack last check, which we know is good beacuse it has checked everynight since we bought the supplies.
A good night sleep.
And off they go!

Polly said...To get ready for the first day of classes, I use nice, fine-tip pens to make tabs of all my classes on both notebooks and folders. Then I load my back pack with my favorite pens and pencils. :) I love school supplies!

Theressa said...For my oldest,a senior at Virginia Tech, we prepare all summer working together to save for that dreaded Fall semester tuition. Talking about which classes and professors she would love to have and the back up one's just in case.
The next two are seniors at Woodbridge High and we discuss more the plans AFTER school. Then try to work out which electives would help them meet their goals. We get new clothes, shoes, and just notebooks, pens, and pencils for the first day. We have often tried to buy ahead and were frustrated with picky teacher demands and tons of unneeded supplies for the year.
The youngest is pre-k this year and we started by meeting his teacher, reading books about school, and then writing the teacher a note. He wrote Dear Miss Nora, and his name along with making a picture of himself with a backpack. He dictated to me the rest "I won't be shy. I will have fun at school."
Here's hoping to a great school year for all!
