Off-Duty Cop Puts Scare on Would-Be Romeo

You catch some punk having sex with your teenage daughter, so you go over to his house and scare the you-know-what out of him.
Wait. It gets better. You happen to be a full-blown, uniform-wearing, gun-toting cop. So you slap the cuffs on him and tell him the district attorney will probably throw the book at him. That ought to really put the fear of God into the little %$#@!
Sound like a good idea?
It apparently did to an off-duty San Jose, Calif., motorcycle cop. At least it did at the time. Now he's looking down the business end of an internal affairs investigation.
The San Jose Mercury reports the officer stormed over to the house of a 15-year-old boy who had allegedly had sex with the officer's 14-year-old stepdaughter. The boy's stepfather used his cell phone to capture the Aug. 30 incident on video.
According to the newspaper, the officer showed up in uniform and slapped the cuffs on the boy.
"Not a good thing that the person you had sex with is a cop's daughter," the officer says on the video viewed by editors of the Mercury News. "The district attorney will probably file charges."
The officer removed cuffs and left.
The boy's parents, in a complaint to the San Jose Police Department, said they did not give the officer permission to scare or threaten their son. They also described his manner as angry and abusive.
After the parents filed their complaint, their son was arrested for unlawful sexual intercourse -- a misdemeanor for consensual sex between two minors of a similar age.
The Mercury News reports Santa Clara County prosecutors are reviewing the case, but have sent it back to the police department for more information.
Meanwhile, the officer's lawyer, Terry Bowman, tells the newspaper his client was just trying to scare the boy and never pretended to arrest him.
"He is doing (the boy's parents) a favor by attempting to lecture and educate the young man so he doesn't continue to go down the wrong path," Bowman tells the Mercury News.
The names in the case are not being released to protect the identities of the teenagers.

According to the article, the teens had mutual agreed upon sex, so they were both to blame. Teenage sex has been around forever; nothing new there. The police officer used his position for personal purposes, which is wrong. If anyone should be punished, it should be him.

If you don't believe me, spend some time in a Jr High School and see just who is pursuing whom. You might be shocked. I know I was! Terri said...These parents should be thankful that the Dad was calmly trying to tewach him a lesson, most Dads would have probably done worse. As far as the daughter goes she too needs to be punished for doing this while she was working babysitting for other peoples children. That boy got off so easy, now that his parents complained I hope he has a police charges. Parents with this attitude are whats wrong today.

I feel sorry for that poor girl and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that her dad is an abusive S.O.B. What he did was wrong! He's the one who should be handcuffed and put in jail!
And here's another newsflash for you: TEENAGERS HAVE SEX! Whether you want them to or not; so the best you can do is teach them to be responsible and can you tell them to wait but there's no guarantee they will. You conservatives always whine about big government but some reason you have no problem with government in your bedroom!
