I think she would be exactly the woman to teach children. Why? Because she experienced messing her life up and making mistakes. Then, she turned her life around enough to get a teaching job. Lastly, she had the courage to speak up and admit that she made mistakes. It is easy for a person who has never been in her position to self-righteously tell children what not to do. This woman, however, has the experience to back up what she says. She is living proof that people can change and start building a more positive life. The parents who are afraid of her past don't understand the types of conversations they could have with their children about this and how being around this woman could actually be a good example. If she has the qualifications, does a good job and is making positive choices now, her past really shouldn't factor into it.

Who cares? So, she got paid for it while most girls her age were giving it away for free. What makes them better than her? Were they doing volunteer service for the community by giving it away for free?? Think about it.

This should be the very person to inspire. She made mistakes, overcame them, and is now working as a teacher helping children. Why people get so upset is beyond me. If she were STILL working as a prostitute, then there would be cause for concern. Just because you haven't had the misfortune to have done something like that, doesn't mean you should pass judgement.

Does her past really matter? Why? How's her record as a teacher? To all of you who are so quick to be critical of her I say take a good long look at yourselves and unless you're perfect you have no room to criticize.

i would bet that better than 90% of those who voted no have a shady past but are now parents. i do and ao do (all) of my friends men and women friends, so what that is their past, get that past. i commend he for what she had the guts to do knowing it is now public knowledge, yea for her. go get them girl.

At least she's honest - thanks a refreshing role model - and doing something legit now. If she's a good teacher, what was done in the past is in the past.

What she did in the past matters little-- live and let live, or forgive. The problem is her poor judgement in talking about that aspect of her past. Now the students know, and I think the teacher-student classroom relationship has been damaged beyond repair. Kids need to focus on academics instead of sex, and this teacher makes that nearly impossible.

Did anyone notice the amount of time she was providing erotic services? A mere 3 months. Does that even count as being an actual prostitue? Her past and her present have nothing to do with eachother. If anything she would be able to councel girls NOT to walk the same road she did and how to pull them selves out of the life if they fall into it. And in my expieriance, the kids listen to people who been there done that more than they do the person with no experiance. On another note, her supporting peoples rights to perform erotic serivices still has NOTHING to do with her current job.

She doesn't want her child to be around "that kind of person??" Now... What exactly is "that kind of person?" Who cares about her past? At least she came clean about it and at least she's doing something better with her life, now. No one has any idea what kind of situation she was in financially. Maybe that was the only work she had at the moment. Does that make it any better? Not really. But who are you to judge? I don't support that LIFESTYLE, but I would gladly hang around this WOMAN, have lunch with her, get to know her, etc. Don't judge her on past mistakes. Leave the lady alone.. Who cares what she does after hours.. Have you not done something in your life that you are no proud of, no one is taking your kids from you..Let the lady teach, she"s probably a good teacher..Some people need to get a hobby..

While I don't think being a hooker is a safe, smart career choice I want to ask all the women here: How many of you have had sex for fun? Sex before marraige? She had sex because she needed to pay bills, to eat.....most of you have had sex for nothing....more than one partner in your past?......so what is worse?....A hooker or a $lut?

If she is not promoting prostitution in the classroom, then whats the problem. She afterall, is the poster child for how this country can provide better opportunities for employment and she could teach young women (depending on the age group she teaches) that prostitution is not the way to live your life. She turned her life around and she deserves that chance.

Where in the hell were these "teachers" when I went to school.
Kids today are incredibly fortunate and need to take full advantage of the situation, sowing their wild oats opting to be "tutored" by the nice teacher as often as possible. Incredibly good fortune for today's yute.

Now, take another good look. Is she? With honesty comes integrity, and the least can have an up roar over a teacher, who does an excellent job then, again, mothers you all need to re-evaluate yourselves and find out where you went wrong in raising your child. For those females who are offended by this article/behavior I ask:
How often did you give tour date (first, second, etc.) sex for dinner, a show, etc. What's the difference? Did he say "I Love You"? Get a life, our education system is a disaster, while teachers are PART of the problem, their ability to TEACH is what we should be looking at.
