Anti-Suicide Tees: Wear Them Loud and Proud

In light of the recent Rutgers University tragedy, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community is speaking out and displaying their message on their chests.
And now, you can too.
A shocking statistic on one tee reads "30% of suicides are LGBT related" and, according to the Massachusetts Youth Risk Survey taken in 2007, "lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth are up to four times more likely to attempt suicide than their heterosexual peers."
Of course, you don't have to be part of this community to join in their fight. So buy a tee (or seven or 12) and help put a stop to gay and lesbian suicide.

Regina said...A family member does not have to be gay or lesbian to stand against bullying.....my 11 year old was bullied so bad that we called the police to go to the school. She's straight. Should I not stand shoulder to shoulder with those against bullying because she's not gay? Face it everyone....bullying destroys...doesn't matter race creed age or anything. Bullying needs to be stopped period!

Bette Dewing said...again, it's not only gays committing suicide but others too - again mostly males and away at college or and males ahamed to share troubles which so often are a romantic break-up or not living up to the toxic male images for supposed manhood - and being overwhelmed by school pressures and again unlke women unable to share his worries and woes. This even larger group must get the same attention as gays now get. and remembr again that those who love them will neer get over the loss - this too must be stressed as well as things will get better - stressed widely - but sure don't see Lady GaGa doing a video on that or any current pop stars are part of the problem
stressing sex and couple "love" and not the most needed kind, family and friendship love!!! What we need is a great revival of the The Waltons.and other G rated fare.

Matt said...Honostly Lady Gaga does a lot political stuff that most people don't realize. She does have a boyfriend though, but she doesnt publisize it like most stars do. I think you need to do some research before you make accusations. Keeping things G rated is the idea that is causing a lot of suicides. people need to be able to express themselves and the people who dont like it need to shut up, sit down, and deal
