Education is always a hot topic. Right now, teacher tenure is taking a lot of heat.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie wants to eliminate tenure, which he says will make it easier to get rid of teachers that are not doing a good job.

Seventy-three percent of voters in a recent poll taken in the Garden State "view tenure as a barrier that prevents the firing of unqualified teachers."

Should we stop giving teachers tenure? Or is tenure necessary so that educators feel comfortable teaching without worrying about their jobs?
