Ashwini Bhat, ParentDish's copy editor, might be based in Bangalore, India, but when she sent us this lovely photo of herself with her daughter, mother and grandmother, we were touched by how we can all relate to a shared family moment like this. Ash tells us that they were all sitting together looking at an old book of animals that she and her siblings used to love as kids when it suddenly struck her that there might not be many occasions like that in the future. So, she quickly thought to ask her brother to snap a picture. We're glad you did, Ash.

Eileen said...This is a wonderful thing about life in other countries expecially India. They have households that are intergengerational. That is wonderful. In centuries past the US was like that. Then we started being more independent and grandparents lived separate lives from their children and so forth. I would give up my independence to live with my family, to be part of otheir lives to be partially instrumental in the way that they were being raised. I think that it is charming and just all kinds of wonderful. My congrats to Ash for her sending the picture of her wonderful family and may you all live long and healthy lives.... Namastè. . .
