Tracking the names celebrities give their babies is like a sport nowadays. Whether the stars choose classic or crazy names, we love to watch from the sidelines and dish about the scores and screw-ups.
"Most celebrities opted for fairly mainstream names in 2010. You can see the influence of family history and ethnicity in many of their choices," says Linda Murray, editor in chief of BabyCenter.com. "But performers are creative by nature so we always see a good batch of truly unique names from this group."
How did this year's crop of A-list parents do in the name game? BabyCenter asked 2,000 moms, and here are their picks for the best and worst celebrity baby names of 2010.

Larry said...No, it's not because these people are "creative" that they saddle their kids with moronic names. It's because they (the parents) are morons. Pure and simple.

shewa!? said...ok Aviana Olea sounds like an airline, Bryn sounds like a cleaning product, Cosima sounds Italian (which in this day and age is "chic"), Axel sounds cute and Krishna is a beautiful name.
seeing as these kids have super rich parents, I doubt that anyone will ever make fun of them in school, on the contrary, I think other kids will suck up to them....
also, I went to high school with a Native American guy named Brave Bear and he was incredibly popular!! he was smart, nice, hot, athletic and crowned Prom King....
names, like beauty, are subjective, everyone has different opinions about what's good or bad. your "article" is ridiculous and I'm only taking the time to read and comment on it because I'm stuck at the airport with nothing else to do.

Giana said...I have to say that Grace Margaret and Harper Grace are pretty nice if both mothers gave birth to eighty year old women. They're nice names, but incredibly boring. Aviana Olea is good but Krishna is bad? Aviana is made up piece of crap if there ever was one. At least Krishna is cultural and I don't think Egypt is so bad.

mgregg84 said...Egypt Daoud, I think should have made the best names, it is original and not silly like some of the others on the worst list. How were these names picked? Was a list just handed to someone with two colums, I Like or I don't Like. How original is it to see the name Grace, twice in the top 5 best? Daoud means David in Arabic by the way. They picked this name because it was to send a message of peace. Can you figure out why? Probably not because some of the stuff I read on this site could be written by my 13yr old sister. Do some research if your lost.

Braxton
Braden
Jaden
Caden
Bronson
Cadence
Hunter
Drayton
Dawson
etc., etc., etc., blah, blah, blah. There's no end to the ridiculous names that stupidly pretentious people saddle their kids with. Just pick a last name, use it as a first name and there you are. I can only guess that these dumbbunnies got the idea from the "old money" practice of using the mother's family name as a middle name. They use these names because they think they sound "important" and "dignified", when they really just display foolishness.
