Jennifer said...I like to get the essentials for baby- diapers, wipes, an outfit, etc. And for the mom I like to give the Mom's First Day Kit. It has many handy things she will need after delivery- breast soothers, cooling fem pads, nursing pads, and disposable undies for the hospital.

Michelle said...My favorite gift I received was a bouncy seat. I actually ended up getting three of them for different rooms in the house. If I had to set my baby down for a moment, the bouncy seat was there. My girls loved how it bounced, and had a vibrate mode-it put them to sleep many times over. We used it all the for sleeping, eating and playing, and it was small enough to take in the car to grandma's. It was the most used item for us from birth to 6 months.
My brother and his wife are expecting their first...and second--it's twins (conceived naturally)! They are going to needs lots of help and lots of stuff so I would love to win this prize for them!!

Tammy Eiermann said...I like to make a handmade crocheted blanket for the new baby. I also include this with a hamper or laundry basket. I use baby clothes pins to attach the blanket, burp clothes, bibs, clothes, socks, onesies, diapers, etc. to a clothes line and fold them in the basket. As the new mother pulls the end of the clothes line, it unravels all the goodies. You may add whatever item you would like. The longer the line the more fun it is. You just pass the end of the line around the room, so everyone can see. I did this for my last nephew and it went to every person that attended. It was great.

Adam said...If it's for a boy, the peepee teepee is always a hoot. ;-) Granted, as a male, I've never actually attended a baby shower, but I've helped my wife purchase gifts plenty of times. Plus, we're expecting our third child later this month, and the my wife's shower is on Saturday, so the timing of this post is awesome!
