You were overcome with happiness and tears when your baby started to crawl on his own. A few weeks later, you found yourself out of breath and exhausted from chasing your little cruiser all over the house.
You realized it was time to baby proof the house. Safety gates are essential to ensure your child's safety, but chunky plastic gates? Not so chic.
Munchkin gates combine safety and style, and we're giving away three designer wood and steel models.
Enter to win by leaving us a comment below telling us about your baby's first crawl or step.

AmyK said...My babygirl has been army craawling for months! She can crawl "regular" style but would rather army crawl and hold toys in her hands. I had no idea a baby could move so FAST this way! She is pulling up but is too timid to try and take a step yet.

Christina Marrufo said...My daughter took her 1st steps at 12 months old in our hallway. My husband and I were facing each other with our legs spread and feet touching and she took turns walking back and forth between us. We were so happy and scared at the same time!!

Melanie said...My baby took his first steps at his cousins birthday party! The older girls were teasing and playing with him, then they'd run away! Crawling wasn't cutting it anymore, so he took 4 steps and then plopped down on his butt! Now we have cardboard boxes (seriously, lol) blocking off the stairs and desperately need a babygate!

Sarah C said...My littlest is 10 months old and has been working on walking for a few weeks now. She doesn't walk to mom or dad ("why put in all that effort if you can help me?!"). But sometimes I'll turn around to see her toddling over to investigate what her big sister is doing!

jacodispoti said...We call my son '2nd gear' because once he started crawling, he would go super fast towards something he thought was cool (like the top of the stairs). Thanks for the chance! We have an old dog gate resting up against the bottom of the stairs for now.

Now we moved her bedroom upstairs and she is obsessed with climbing the stairs, we could use an extra gate so we don't need to keep moving the same one!

Jenni said...My little man was determined not to let us see him walking without cruising until he knew he could walk perfectly. We kept thinking he would start taking a few steps, but he never did. He only cruised around the furniture. We were starting to get worried, then one day he walked all the way down the hallway! He is my little perfectionist!

Tamara R. said...Our 7 year old decided that he wanted to get up and go at an early age. He had just started crawling at 7 months and 3 days later he figured out that he could stand and walk while hanging on to the couch. Only 3 more days later he was walking on his own! I was astounded! Here was this little tiny (I mean TINY) guy running around everywhere.

Amanda said...My son took his first step when he was 9 months and 3 weeks old. We were on vacation (his first time to the beach also) The very next day he tried to walk across the living room, fell, and smacked the coffee table so he got his first black eye. Lots of first that week!

me said...My oldest was shy about walking and we suspected she could even though we never saw it until one day my husband had changed her and stood her in the middle of the living room facing her toybox and said "there ya go! go play!" and walked back behind her behind the couch. She thought we couldn't see her and she took 6 steps straight to her toybox! The claps and yeahs surprised her and from then on she didn't hide her accomplishments.

Shirley said...My son doesn't really crawl, he rolls, scoots and inches across the floor to were he wants to go. He is all over the place. I need to go out and buy more gates, this seems like the perfect gate for me.

keyinyourhole said...My daughter took her first steps when she was 14 months old, seemed like it took so long for her to walk. We were eating dinner and she was done so I let her out of her high chair and put her on the floor to play. She stood up and literally walked all the way across the room. My husband and I were speachless, mouths wide open, and then after the shock wore off we were screaming with joy. Such an awesome and exciting milestone, one i'll never forget.

Cbroch5 said...I have twins. My daughter started crawling 1 1/2 weeks before my son.. He weighs a little more than her (just a bit stockier). He would see his sister crawl around, but couldn't quite move :(. But he tried and tried. My husband and I cheered him on every night till one evening he nudged his first move forward. Now they are crawling buddies and ALL over the place.... Together :)
