How to play: Divide the children into teams of five or six. For each player, there should be a bowl of either applesauce or pudding with a chocolate kiss in the bottom of the bowl. Mark each player's bowl with his name. Group the bowls by teams and place them on a table, the floor, or the ground about 20-30 feet from the starting line. Give each player an old shirt or a trash bag to wear as a bib.
The rules: At the starting signal, the first player on each team will run to his bowl and retrieve the chocolate kiss without using his hands. Players should keep their hands behind their backs when retrieving the kiss. After the player gets the kiss, he must eat it while standing by his bowl to prevent choking while running. Once he has eaten his kiss, he will run back to his team and tag the next player. Play continues until everyone has gone.
How to win: The first team to complete the race is the winning team.
What else you need to know: You can use candy corn instead of chocolate kisses if you have any fear of children choking on a kiss.

ffeonxe said...I have a QUESTION..........How deep are these bowls that the children are supposed to "SEARCH FOR " and find hidden "kiss" WITHOUT USING THEIR HANDS" ???? A BOWL??? A BOWL???with APPLESAUCE or PUDDING???
Did a three-year-old submit this post???? Or was it posted by someone with below zero cognitive capacity????
The next general question I have would be, Why do people ""play"" with "food" and then dumps it?? Wishful waste makes woeful wants. Oh, the arrogant arrogance of the arrogant's arrogance!!!!!Arrogance to the 90th deg.
I stand corrected.

William Anderson said...Ouch! It sounds like you are teaching your kids the wrong lessons about food and it's role and relationship in their life. There are dire consequences if you lead them in the wrong direction. Read some of the free articles at www.TheAndersonMethod.com to learn about the obesity epidemic and what moms and schools need to do about it.

Frankling said...With all the toys that can be made or bought, this goof encourages playing with food? Putting aside the fact that junk food pushers market their "snacks" by making them sound and look "fun", very often the most fun a kid can have can be found in a large cardboard box, which can be a fort, a spaceship or any number of locations that can be built in their imagination.

1) use your own brain and get dishes at an appropriate depth for the children palying the game.
2) children can and do learn the difference between proper table manners and having fun with food
3) food and games have been around for ever....pinatas, bobbing for apples (now the germ-a-phobes can't handle this one), pie eating, pie throwing, any food eating contests.
4) if chocolate is too much for you than use healthier alternatives such as the apple sauce mentioned in the article
5)talking about obesity....hello! these kids are running around playing a game!
6) use your own brain
