What you need: For each team you will need a plastic soda, water, or juice bottle, ping pong ball, water, and water gun.

How to play: Place all of the bottles on an outdoor table. Put a ping pong ball on top of each bottle. Divide the children into equally numbered teams. Give each team a water gun filled with water. Establish a line about five to eight feet from the bottles from where players will stand. Line the teams up behind each first player.

The rules: At the starting signal, the first player on each team will try to knock the ping pong ball off his team's bottle by shooting water at it from his gun. Once he has knocked the ball off, he must run and replace the ball, return to his team, and give the gun to the next player. Play continues until all players have gone.

How to win: The first team to complete the race is the winning team.

What else you need to know: The shooting line will vary from five to eight feet from the bottles, depending on the players' ages.
