Time for a new CD! 'Sing To Your Baby,' is an 11-song CD accompanied by a 32-page illustrated book that acts as a coach for parents who want to communicate with their babies through song. Multi-GRAMMY winning musician/author duo, Catchy Fink and Marcy Marxer, have been creating music for families for 25 years.
It is their belief that singing is the best way for babies to develop communicative skills and that the more words a baby hears during infancy, the more prepared he or she will be for learning during school years. The CD, 'Sing To Your Baby,' is produced with a wide variety of instruments including acoustic & electric guitar, five-string banjo, mandolin, cello, ukulele and more.
We are giving five winners their very own copy of 'Sing To Your Baby' CD and book. To enter to win, leave us a comment telling us what your favorite song to sing to your baby is.

Also, in the bath tub, "Take me out of the bathtub" (to the tun of take me out to the ball game). So much fun! Source: Take Me Out of the Bathtub and Other Silly Dilly Songs by: Alan Katz

Neia said...My babies are all grown but I look forward to grand babies. My favorite song to sing to my baby is "I see the moon."
Lyrics: I see the moon and the moon sees me. The moon sees the somebody I want to see. God bless the moon, and god bless me and god bless the somebody I want to see. Verse 2: I see the moon and the moon sees me. God bless the moon and god bless me. There's grace in the cabin and grace in the hall but the greatest grace is over us all. (Repeat verse one).
It's best sung with that "lonesome mountain sound" but also prettily. It's fun to go out and look at the moon with your baby when singing it.

See everything2.com/title/Di+Mame+iz+Gegangen for the words. The song is about a guy yearning for a girl friend/wife, but I sang it to my kids as if they were just what I wanted from the market. I flipped genders as appropriate.
My daughter hated having her diaper changed, and would cry a lot. I had a special song for those times:
Oh Becca, don't you weep, don't you moan,
Oh Becca, don't you weep, don't you moan,
Daddy's changing your diaper,
Oh Becca, don't you weep.
