New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie made Jesse Koczon, 5, of Old Bridge, N.J., honorary governor for a day April 6, after watching a clip of the boy crying "because I want to be the governor, and I can't."
Jesse's twin brother, Brandon, not to be left out, was named honorary lieutenant governor.
Asked what his first order of business would be, Jesse responded: "Maybe tell the lieutenant governor what to do."
Jesse's video won $10,000 on "America's Funniest Home Videos" last year.

Lita said...Thank you, k. I thought I was the only one who didn't find this "adorable." Whiny children are endearing only to relatives and, maybe, family friends. It also seems that there was an adult there who seemed to egg-on the child. And all this just to have something to post on youtube? This almost as annoying as the stupid "dad" who posted a video of his little boy, struggling under the influence of anesthetic after a visit to the dentist. Unbelievable.

mary said...I'll go one step further...babies/young rug rats who cry, dance ,laugh etc., should be banned from coming into my home in any way, shape or form. They are NOT news, they are NOT cute, they are so annoying that I would rather hear a dentist's drill! Also, I wonder how many tax payer dollars and government time was wasted making that brat "Governor for a Day?"

While I do not think whining is cute, I do think it is kind of cute that a child might ask about being governor. However, I do not think he needed be indulged after acting out.

Fanetiks said...Cut the anti-NJ crap! We're tired of it. NJ is at least the second richest state in the Nation, and sometimes first. Unfortunately, in NJ's off-year gubernatorial election, a monstrously unfit Republican was elected in a Blue State, and he has made a royal mess of things. A 4-year-old might indeed do a better job year-round than Chris Christie.
