Surprisingly, the name Joshua didn't make the cut for the first time since 1978.
In addition to the most popular names, the SSA also revealed a list of trending baby names that show the biggest spikes in popularity. Leading the trending girls name: Maci, the moniker of "Teen Mom" star Maci Bookout. Her son's name, Bentley, ranked as number one for the biggest trending name for boys.
Also noteworthy: Knox, one of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's twins, and "Twilight" name Kellen appear on the trending list, too.
Without further ado, here are the top baby names and top trending names of 2010. Drum roll, please.

Una Healy and her fiance Ben Foden welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world recently. And picking out the baby name wasn't easy for the couple. Foden wanted to name their baby girl Afia, which means‚Äö "Born on a Friday." But the Saturdays singer refused to once she found out the meaning of the name saying,"I thought it was nice, but it means‚Äö born on a Friday. It would be like I'm obsessed with days of the week." My 2 cents said...Ridiculous! When do we start naming kids Pinocchio and Rover... after all, the teens like it...! Maybe they can all get jobs and support these kids too!

People that came here illegally should be shot on site by our military as invaders, the same way our military does in all the mid-east countries. Illegal aliens came here and intentionally had numerous children (anchor babies) only as an attempt to hopefully keep from being deported. They are all trouble makers that refuse to assimilate and learn english. Most are incolved in criminal activity. They raise their children to become violent gang members just like they did in mexico and columbia. They are destroying everything that made America the great country it is. Over 90% of all illegal aliens are from south of the border. Employers must be forced to use " E-VERIFY" for all employees. And racial profiling is a MUST in America today due to all the illegal aliens.

Pamela said...And the baby will have to live with it's name for it's entire life. Classic is always best. It stays, a person is not nagatively pre-judged. Having a 'pop' name can have it's consquences.
