Mom Being Investigated for Injecting 8-Year-Old With Botox
Filed under: In The News
Here's one we knew would be coming: The mom who admitted to giving her 8-year-old daughter Botox injections is now under investigation.
"Good Morning America" reports Kerry (last name withheld) is being investigated by the San Francisco Human Services Agency.
"It's pretty unusual for a mom to be injecting an 8-year-old with botox and certainly is grounds for an investigation," Trent Rohrer of the agency tells the news show.
Mom Kerry and Britney, her daughter, have raised plenty of ire since their "GMA" appearance May 12, when they talked of the girl using Botox to help her win a beauty pageant title.
"I just, like, don't, like, think wrinkles are nice on little girls," Britney told "GMA."
Dr. Richard Besser, chief health and medical editor for ABC News tells the news show the Food and Drug Administration has not approved Botox for kids for cosmetic reasons.
"As a doctor, if I'd seen this mother, I would be required to report her to protective services because it's maltreatment... Any doctor who would give a parent Botox to administer to their children should lose their license ... there's not a state where you don't need to be a licensed doctor or under direct supervision of a doctor to inject this," he tells "GMA."
"The View" co-host Sherri Shepherd put it in simpler terms:
"This is the dumbest...momma I have ever seen in my life," she said on the talk show.

info said...This is just simply NOT okay. This child sadly will likely grow up into a very angry and self-conscious teen.
