Fetus Has More Than 260 Facebook Friends
Using paper announcements and photo albums to document a birth are so 2010. To spread the word of their pregnancy, Ellie and Matt Greene started a Facebook profile for their unborn baby, Marriah.
The Texas couple sent friend requests and the fetus had more than 100 friends in just one day. To date, her friends number 260.
The mom-to-be updates the page from the point of view of Marriah and people respond directly to her, especially when she tells friends she is kicking Mommy. "Oh, do somersaults this way," one friend suggests.
Marriah's parents have gotten creative, adding that Marriah attends Tummy University.
The page is not just for entertainment and laughs, however.
"We wanted to keep the page going, so she could go back and look at it," Ellie Greene tells KLTV, adding that she and her husband will continue to update the page to share her birth story.

Jen said...How funny, they get a news story and their page gets removed. You know Baby Marriah, Facebook guidelines clearly state you must be 13 to get a facebook page. Shame on your parents for allowing you to be dishonest and break the rules already. At this rate, you could be a juvenile delinquent by age 2!!!!!

These parents just want to share the development of their child even before birth. If people choose to "friend" the child, what makes you the guardian of the net?

Lisa said...So, they lied and said the fetus was 13 years old? Way to start off a new life, with lies.
How utterly too cutesy wootsey, having the baby tell its side of pregnancy! The pregnancy is only special to this couple, their families and friends. It isn't the world's first pregnancy. People need to get over themselves.

Incidentally, in more than 60 years of life, I have NEVER met a single person who was particularly iterested in their own birth and infancy - although their friends and relatives tend to find the parents records hilarious. For this child, the hilarity is not going to be limited to friends and relations - it's been provided to the whole wide world.

Lisa said...Aren't you supposed to be 13 before you begin a facebook page? The couple is in danger of losing this page if they have lied about the birth year of the baby. Facebook can delete it and might. What would it have to be? 1998 at least! That baby hasn't even been born yet.
