Surf's Up for Pipe Masters Contest
Massive 15 to 20-foot waves at Banzai Pipeline got the blood pumping on the beach and spilling in the water for day one of the Billabong Pipe Masters on Thursday, and a spirited demonstration of perfect surfing by 19-year-old John John Florence (Hawaii) got the emotions flowing. The Billabong Pipe Masters is the third and final jewel of the Vans Triple Crown. Scored on their best two waves in each 40 minute heat, the majority of surfers struggled to lock in two solid scores in the waves.

Man Falls From Water Slide At Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
A man was hospitalized on Sunday after falling from a water slide at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor.
At around 4:15 p.m., the 19-year-old male muscled his way up Venom Drop, part of the 75-foot-high group of slides called Black Snake Summit, according to spokeswoman Sue Carpenter.
The man then passed other people in line, and went down the slide head first on his stomach even though protocol is to go down feet first on the back. He was not cleared to go down the slide by lifeguards.
