Mom Allegedly Threatens Little League Official Because Her Son Didn't Make the Team

Talk about a parent totally striking out.
Janet Chiauzzi, an East Meadow, N.Y. mom, has been arrested and charged with stalking, falsely reporting an incident, endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated harassment, allegedly because her son did not make a summer baseball travel team, "Today" reports.
Chiauzzi allegedly threatened the Little League official she deemed responsible, sending letters to his kids' school that accused him of physical and verbal abuse, according to the news show, and even addressed the official's own young son.
"If something happens to your dad or mom, or your sister, you can blame your dad for not taking these threats seriously," she allegedly wrote.
The charges of abuse against the man were investigated and dismissed, "Today" reports.
In a letter to the official, Chiauzzi allegedly threatens the man's family, the news show adds.
"I know where your wife works ... I know where your daughter goes to school and your son's normal every day routine. ... Just tell your wife and kids to watch themselves, especially at night. I don't care what it takes, I'm going to make your life and your family's life a living hell. These are not just words and empty threats," she allegedly wrote.
"Today" reports Chiauzzi's attorney calls the allegations "shocking" and he states the woman is a "PTA mom" and that she is not guilty.
"This is a very thought-through, premeditated, elongated process that went on, and, in a way, I find that to be more disturbing," psychologist Gail Saltz tells "Today."

js said...my kids were all in little league, they played because they wanted to, they were not superstars, just kids playing baseball. You learn teamwork, rules, fair play, and have fun too.
Parent's need to learn the rules when it's the kids who are playing, whether it's baseball, or other such things as dance, pageants whatever you put your child in. I would hope that the comments would stay on the bad conduct of the parent, not the child.

Most parents are normal but some want to fight and very abusive.

The TODD said...You know it just sad that a man who is a Little League Official does this, I am not condoning what the Mom did but it's people like the OFFICIAL who are killing kids hopes and so forth, if your a Parent you want the best for your kids. I think we should be looking into the Little League Official ethics and code of conduct; maybe will find a pattern or whatnot but I hope the Mom gets some help and I wish everyone would see the foot on both sides.

Yeah, you know what, TED BUNDY seemed like an upstanding citizen to everyone, as did the BTK killer. For this horrendous woman's attorney to defend her with the planket statement "she's a PTA Mom" is absolutely absurd. Yeah, OK, she's in the PTA, then that OBVIOUSLY mean she can't have a screw loose in her head. Are you KIDDING ME?!

Jane said...I would be inclined to ask local officials to look into the home life of the kid (and any siblings). A mom this nuts is likely to have a very 'different' style of parenting - emotionally if not actually physically abusive. Crazy moms are out there, we all know. Why don't we notice them so often? Well, she's a PTA mom. What - so that makes her a great parent? Her child/children may well be either quite brainwashed (a cult of two or three) - or too frightened of their mother's wrath to ever say anything. I say check it out officially.

melissa said...Come on now lady, Where does this come from. Your own problems while growing up. Could it be you were not fit for some sport or other and not allowed to play. Yeesh, some parents are just so competitive that they will do anything to get their kids on a team when they did not make the cut. What you gonna do. Are you going to stand by them 24/7 when they are adults and did not get the job, because they did not meet the qualifications. I would hate to be your son or daughter. What an embarrassment.
