L.A. County officials unveiled the first-ever Safe Sleep for Baby campaign on Wednesday aimed at reducing the number of infant suffocation deaths.
Every five days a baby suffocates while sleeping in L.A. County, according to health officials.
In fact, from 2008 to 2011, more babies died from suffocation due to unsafe sleep than all other types of accidental deaths combined.
