Roger "Uncle Roger" Sinasohn

I am an old school computer programmer by trade, with a penchant for vintage laptops. I have carried a portable computer continuously since the early 80's. I also love Land Rovers and the promise of adventure they hold. I've owned many, from my prized 1959 Series II, Indy, to our current 1999 Discovery Series II, Captain Spaulding. I've done a lot of camping and backpacking, including leading trips for the local Sierra Club chapter. Music is an integral part of my life; I love good music of every genre. I've also performed, including with the San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Symphony, and on the same bill as Danny Kaye. I tap dance, but not very well. I am extremely liberal, politically and socially, and am a devout atheist. I've lived my whole life in San Francisco and see no reason to move anywhere else. I love the diversity and culture mixed with a small town feel.

I have two children, Jared, born in 2002, and Sara, born in 2004, and my goal is to give them the experiences and knowledge they need to become caring, productive members of society. I focus heavily on sharing with others, helping those who need it, and caring about the feelings of those around them. The kids and I volunteer once a week at a nursing home helping out and visiting with the residents. Having been a very violent person myself when younger, I work hard to avoid exposing the kids to any violence. I also eschew competitiveness, including sports, looking instead for activities where everyone can work together as a team and no one loses. I am a huge proponent of education, especially the public schools. have been and plan to continue being an active participant in the kids' education, working with their teachers and schools. I have been with the same wonderful woman since 1990, although we've only been married since 1999.
