Michelle Burford was a founding senior editor at O: The Oprah Magazineand has contributed to publications including Single-Parent Family, Essence, Latina and Weight Watchers. As an international correspondent, she has reported from more than 20 countries around the world, and she is the co-author of “Let’s Go: Greece 2008.” She has been an instructor at New York’s Columbia Publishing Course and is a graduate of Harvard University, where she earned a master’s degree in educational psychology. The second oldest of nine children, Burford grew up in Phoenix.

She left journalism for a soul-sucking corporate gig, and babies gave her the perfect excuse to quit her job and engage in a life of leisure. Now she earns latte money as a freelance writer while her husband pursues a doctoral degree at a Huge Midwestern University.

Amy’s work has appeared in several print publications, including USAirway’s in-flight magazine, and she writes a weekly family-travel column at TravelMuse.

Sarah James is a 34-year-old list-making extraordinaire who lives by the beach with her husband and freakishly large toddler. Her perfect day would include dipping her toes in the ocean, rubbing noses with her little guy and organizing her closet. (Yes, organizing her closet. She is clearly in need of help.)

Sandy Maple has always been on the fast track.  She married, had a daughter and divorced before most of her peers had chosen their college majors. She became a grandmother while many of her friends were just starting their families and today, with the help of her wonderful second husband, is happily raising her beautiful granddaughter Ellie.

Having lived in four different states in the past eight years, Sandy and company are currently settled just a stone's throw from New York City.  When she's not writing for ParentDish, Sandy can be found discussing world politics with her grown up girl and playground politics with her little one.
