The AR.Drone was one of the hottest toys at Toy Fair 2011, and, seeing as how you control it with your iPhone or iPod Touch, we're pretty sure that it's not just kids who are going to be asking for one.

One of our most fun discoveries at Toy Fair 2011 were Egg Bods, which are quirky little windup creatures with characters like Captain Hardboiled and Fairy Tinkershell. Your kids can mix and match the Egg Bods' heads and arms to make their own custom creations, and starting a collection isn't a major investment -- each Egg Bod will retail for $5.99 when they go on sale in the U.S.

So, your kids want a dog but you're not sure they're ready for the responsibility of, oh, feeding, walking and cleaning up after it? We checked out Perfect Petzz at Toy Fair 2011 and found that you can get all the cute and cuddly benefits (they even "breathe!") of a dog minus the upkeep with a puppy or kitten. Perfect Petzzz also has wild animal versions for when you come back from the zoo and your kid insists that an arctic fox or gorilla would make an amazing addition to your family.

When it's a little too cold for water guns (or you just really don't want your kids to get wet), we found a sweet alternative at Toy Fair 2011: Marshmallow guns! The Marshmallow Fun Company has an assortment of shooters, blasters and crossbows, and they all take mini or regular-size marshmallows as soft, safe "ammo." Time for some target practice and s'mores!

Mentos. Diet Coke. Viral video amazing-ness.

What could be cooler? Only the Mentos Geyser Rocket Car, which goes up to 35 miles per hour and travel about 150 feet. We got a demo of the Rocket Car at Toy Fair 2011, where "The Boy in the Box" strapped a bottle of Diet Coke to the car, popped in some Mentos, and let it rip.

Why Diet Coke instead of regular Coke? There's less sugar, so it's less sticky, which, after getting drenched all day, the Boy in the Box should appreciate.

When the Kratt brothers came to visit ParentDish, things got a little wild.

Chris and Martin Kratt star in PBS Kids' "Wild Kratts," which combines animation and live action to teach kids about the amazing world of animals. The Kratts brought along two of their furry (and fiesty) friends: a kinkajou and a white Bengal tiger cub. Check out more exotic animal adventures on "Wild Kratts!"
