Orbit Baby Stroller G2

The Basics: The stroller is 26 pounds with seat. Good from birth to 40 pounds. 24 inches at the widest point when it's unfolded. Collapses to 32.5 by 15.5 by 14 inches.

The Lowdown: The Orbit Baby stroller has been making waves since it was first introduced. While it was always a strong stroller, the new 2010 G2 model addresses many consumer complaints voiced over previous incarnations. The G2 features a "3D" rotating seat-the base swivels, allowing a child to face any direction. The reclining seat is covered with an eco-friendly material. The new model also features an extendable foot rest to accommodate larger children. A massive sun canopy and a toddler tray, with a special cover to store unfinished snacks, round out the seat.

The G2 is as comfortable for the parent as it is for the child. The dual handles are adjustable and ergonomic, making the stroller easy to control. The maneuverability is superior to even other luxury models.

Parents will appreciate the cup holder and adult storage tray. The under-seat "cargo pod," however, is rather limited and can be difficult to access when the seat is reclined. While the 2010 G2 does feature a more compact fold than previous models, it is still fairly large when collapsed. The seat and base of the stroller can be "nested" to further compact the stroller, but this takes multiple steps.

You'll Want It If: You're an eco-minded family, with a love for high design and don't mind spending a pretty penny to get it.

Peg Perego Pliko P3 Stroller

The Basics: The stroller weighs 17.6 pounds. Birth to 45 pounds. 20 inches at the widest point when unfolded. Collapses to 16 by 40 inches.

The Lowdown: The Peg-Pérego Pliko P3 Classico is a great stroller option for families who like the idea of a full-sized stroller but don't want to deal with the weight and inconvenience of one. At less than 18 pounds, this stroller is much lighter than comparable models, such as Inglesina's Zippy stroller. While the company claims the stroller has a quick, one-handed fold, we found the collapse to be awkward and difficult. It took two hands an a lot of pressure. Unfolding the stroller isn't much easier. It is fairly small when collapsed and its self-standing position will be welcomed by space-strapped parents.

The Pliko P3 does not feature the reversible seat that its cousin, the Pliko Switch, offers, but the seats are comfortable for both infants and toddlers alike. The seat fully reclines and the stroller can adapt to carry a multitude of infant carrier models with ease. The seat cover is durable. Plus, it is removable and washable -- albeit by hand.The canopy is substantial and can also be removed. The stroller features a built-in rear footboard for a second, older passenger. However, we found the footboard unsatisfactory. When in use, the front seat can not be reclined fully, making the stroller unsuitable for use with a toddler and an infant. We also found that the positioning of the footboard was uncomfortable for the child, as it puts them incredibly close to the front sear, and for the parents, as it becomes awkward to push the stroller.

Another major drawback was the storage basket. It is designed to be accessible from the front of the stroller when the seat is reclined. However, it can be inconvenient for on-the-go parents to have to move to the front of the stroller to access necessities.

We also found the strollers wheels a bit flimsy. While the frame of the Pliko P3 feels durable, the wheels cracked over any rough terrain. The dual, telescoping handles do help with maneuverability, but we were unable to scale any type of obstacle, such as curbs or gravel.

You'll Want It If: You like the weight of an umbrella stroller but want the features of a classic full-sized model.

Baby Jogger City Select Single Stroller

The Basics: The stroller weighs 28 pounds when used as a single, 34 pounds when used as a double. 45 pound weight capacity per seat. 26 inches at the widest point when unfolded. Collapses to 28 by 26 by 13 inches.

The Lowdown: The Baby Jogger City Select is one of the most exciting new strollers on the market. The stroller is sold as a single stroller, but can be converted to a double tandem stroller. It has 16 different seat arrangements, and can accommodate any combination of bassinets, car seats, or traditional stroller seats. At $500 for the base model single and an additional $160 for the doubles kit, the stroller is pricey, but the its versatility makes it worth the price. Growing families will appreciate the City Select's ability to adapt to children of varying ages.

The City Select's traditional seats have a one-handed recline, but do not lie completely flat and are unsuitable for children under six months. The seats have a notably short, 18-inch seat back, but the canopies can be raised to accommodate taller children. Parents will appreciate the telescopic handle and hand-operated parking break.

One of the best features is the stroller's basket. A large diaper bag and necessities fit with ease and are easily accessible from all angles of the stroller. There is a pocket on the back of the seat, but the base model does not include an adult tray or cup holder. The stroller also does not include a baby tray.

At 28 pounds as a single and 34 pounds as a double, this is not a particularly light stroller. Scaling curbs or steps of any kind can prove challenging. Despite the weight, the stroller does maneuver well. Twelve-inch back, "Forever-Air" tires give the smooth ride of traditional air-filled tires, but don't go flat.

The City Select collapses easily, but once folded is still rather bulky. Families looking for a tight fold should look elsewhere. The stroller doesn't feature a self-standing position once collapsed, which makes it slightly difficult to store. That said, the fold is comparable to similar models.

You'll Want It If: You need a stroller that will grow with your family.

Maclaren Techno XT Stroller

The Basics: The stroller weighs 15 pounds. Good from birth to 55 pounds. Twenty inches at the widest point when it's unfolded. Collapses to 46 by 14 by 18.5 inches.

The Lowdown: Maclaren is known for its wide selection of umbrella and umbrella-plus strollers. They've made their name on models that are durable enough to last you through your stroller years (they offer a lifetime warranty), but are still light and compact enough for travel and easy storage.

The Techno XT follows suit. It doesn't provide the storage that you'll get with larger strollers, and the 6.5 inch wheels aren't large enough to handle any rough terrain. However, in exchange you're getting a stroller that folds up in about 10 seconds, fits in even the smallest of car trunks, and is light enough that you can scale a few steps with a child in the seat.

Of all the Maclaren models, we prefer the Techno XT. It's a bit pricier than the Triumph, Quest and Volo models. However, you can use the Techno XT from birth, thanks to it's full recline. The Triumph and Quest are only good for three months and up, and the Volo is good from six months and up. If you have an older child, the Triumph and Quest may be better options for your family. Maclaren also offers the Techno XLR. For about $50 more, the XLR is car-seat compatible, but we found the frame to feel much bulkier than the XT and that the maneuverability paled in comparison.

You'll Want It If: You're in the market for a durable stroller that is easy to store, and don't need all the frills of a luxury stroller.

Combi Cosmo DX Lightweight Stroller

The Basics: The stroller weighs 13.4 pounds. 55 pound weight maximum. 21.25 inches at the widest point when unfolded. Collapses to 17.75 by 10.5 by 40 inches.

The Lowdown: Combi's lightweight Cosmo is a "umbrella-plus" stroller. The stroller weighs less than 14 pounds and has a tiny, self-standing collapse, which makes this model super convenient. Families who love to travel by plane or car, or have limited home storage space, will love how easily this stroller is stored. The fold did take some getting used to, but was easy and took minimal effort. Its price tag is a little heftier than some comparable models, but what you get in exchange is a sturdier frame and a chic design.

The wide, reclining seat is lined in a breathable mesh fabric, making it ideal for warm or balmy climates. The adjustable canopy is surprisingly large and does a nice job of shielding children from the sun and wind.

The height of the Cosmo is ideal for taller moms and dads, but doesn't dwarf more petite parents. However, parents should be aware that there is no adult cupholder and storage is at a minimum. The storage basket fits little more than the absolute essentials, so parents should look to other stroller options if under-seat storage is a priority. Another drawback of the Cosmo is its wheels, which are relatively flimsy. Their small size means that rough terrain is a no-go with the Cosmo. Wet grass, sand, or even bumpy pavement will be a challenge. Additionally, while the weight is great for storing or lifting the Cosmo, it does mean that it can be difficult to steer. The stroller veers to the side and has difficulty making turns while pushing heavier children.

You'll Want It If: You're looking for a great secondary or travel stroller, but already have another stroller for most of your everyday errands.

InStep Run Around LTD Jogging Stroller

The Basics: The stroller weighs 29 pounds. Good to 50 pounds. 25 inches at the widest point when it's unfolded. Collapses to 39 inches by 25 inches by 23.5 inches.

The Lowdown: Instep Run Around LTD is one of the least expensive jogging strollers on the market. Its front wheel is fixed, which gives it less flexibility in which activities the stroller is appropriate for. Instep does offer some comparable low-priced joggers that have the option of a swivel-front wheel. However, they are $30 to $40 more expensive and we found that the more than four-foot length of the strollers to be unsuited for day-to-day activities even with the swivel wheel.

Compared to other joggers, the Run Around LTD is heavy and its collapsed dimensions are noticeably larger. Plus, the maximum weigh capacity is 20 pounds less than joggers produced by Mountain Buggy and B.O.B, so it won't last you as long. However, at $200 less, it's a great option for parents on a budget.

The stroller does not feel as durable as higher-end joggers, but the frame does feel sturdy. Storage is adequate and we found the fabric to be breathable without feeling cheap. The stroller is easy to control. It does, however, perform better when power walking than during a full jog.

You'll Want It If: You're looking for an outdoor stroller, great for power walking on a budget.

Kelty Speedster Deluxe Swivel

The Basics: The stroller weighs 22 pounds. Good to 70 pounds. Twenty-four inches at the widest point when it's unfolded. Collapses to 36 inches by 21 1/2 inches by 19 inches.

The Lowdown: The Speedster Swivel Deluxe is Kelty's second addition to their high-performance stroller line. Traditional jogging strollers, like the original Speedster Fixed, have a fixed front wheel. The Speedster Swivel Deluxe allows parents to switch to a swiveling front wheel, making it suited for everyday use.

The stroller performs well when jogging. However, parents who have had the stroller for several months have noted that the stroller's tracking veers to one side or another. Unlike the B.O.B Revolution, the Speedster Swivel Deluxe doesn't have the functionality for parents to adjust the tracking.

While Kelty touts this model for its ability to be used as an everyday stroller, we found the length of the stroller a bit cumbersome for day-to-day activities. The extended wheel, perfect for jogging, means that this stroller is more than four feet long. That's a lot of stroller to deal with when running errands. The Speedster Fixed is $75 less. Parents who love the performance quality and durability of a Kelty may consider the fixed model and put the extra money toward a more everyday-friendly umbrella stroller.

You'll Want It If: You need a high performance stroller that can go from the jogging trail to the grocery store.

Mountain Buggy Duo

The Basics: The twin stroller weighs 36 pounds with seat. Good from birth to 110 pounds. 29 inches at the widest point when it's unfolded. Collapses to 40.7 by 29 by 13.4 inches.

The Lowdown: The 2010 Mountain Buggy Duo is a durable, all-terrain twin stroller, and great for growing families. This double has long been a favorite of active-minded families, but the 2010 model offers a couple of stellar improvements. The frame is now narrower, so fitting through standard doors is a breeze. Plus, the new edition features dual canopies, allowing parents to better shield children from the elements.

The Mountain Buggy Duo stands out for its effortless maneuverability. It handles rough terrain with ease. Perhaps more surprising, however, is that the twin stroller performs amazingly well with vastly different weights in the seats. Most double strollers tend to veer toward one side when the weight of the two passengers varies significantly. The balance of the Mountain Buggy is superior.

The Duo can accommodate two carry cots, but can only accommodate one infant carrier at a time. Parents looking for an all-terrain double that can take two infant carriers should look to the EasyWalker Duo.

Like many comparable doubles, the Mountain Buggy Duo's one drawback is its size. At 36 pounds, it is difficult to lug this stroller up stairs or hoist it into a trunk. The wheels are removable for a flatter fold. Still, families looking for a more storage-friendly stroller may want to consider an inline model.

You'll Want It If: You have an active family looking for a durable twin stroller that can go from the mall to the hiking trail with ease.

BOB Revolution Stroller

The Basics: The stroller weighs 23 pounds. Good from birth to 70. 25 inches at the widest point when it's unfolded. Collapses to 37.6 inches by 23 inches by 16.9 inches.

The Lowdown: BOB's standout Revolution is by far one of the best jogging strollers on the market. The ride of the Revolution is incredibly smooth, handling every rough terrain with ease. We love the adjustable suspension, which allows the stroller to be adapted for younger or older children.

The Revolution also features a tracking knob, which allows parents to adjust the alignment of the front wheel if the stroller begins to pull in one direction. The Revolution is one of the only two strollers on the market with this feature. The adjustable tracking is particularly important for parents who do intent to jog frequently with this stroller, as it allows the Revolution to maneuver better than the other stroller model we've tried. The Revolution corners with ease and can snake around even the most crowded spaces.

The seat of the Revolution is covered in a durable canvas and we found that spilled bottles wiped up easily. The canopy is one of the best we've seen, blocking rain better than most canopies we've seen. Additionally, the canopy can be adjusted easily. The biggest drawback of the B.O.B Revolution is that the seat does not sit straight up. However, BOB recently revealed that they have remedied this issue with their 2010 version of the stroller. If you decided to purchase the Revolution, the 2010 model is far superior to previous incarnations.

You'll Want It If: You plan on running multiple miles with your child.

EasyWalker DUO In Aqua

The Basics: The stroller weighs 37 pounds. Good from birth to 98 pounds. The Duo is 29.8 inches at the widest point when it's unfolded. Collapses to 35 by 29.8 by 19.5 inches.

The Lowdown: The EasyWalker Duo is a double stroller with a unique feature that, for some parents, is going to make the whopping $700 price tag (without carrycots!) completely and totally worth it: It takes two car seats. The Duo is one of the only twin strollers on the market with this ability. For parents with twins or younger babies closer in age, this is a huge asset. Plus, since the twin stroller has a maximum capacity of 98 pounds, the Duo will take you straight through all your stroller years.

Other notable features on this Dutch-designed stroller are its air-filled, all-terrain tires; a height adjustable handlebar for parents; and roomy seats with durable covers. Despite its weight and size, the Duo is fairly easy to maneuver. However, depending on the weight distribution of the two riding children, the stroller can veer slightly when steering with one hand. This is particularly frustrating as the stroller does not come with an adult cup holder or a parent storage tray. Steering while drinking a coffee or taking a phone call can be difficult. Still, it handles rough terrain with ease and its ride is smooth enough to keep sleeping babies, well, sleeping.

The main drawback to the Duo twin stroller is its size. The Duo is quite simple to collapse, but it takes two hands. Plus, the stroller isn't very compact once collapsed. You'll need a large trunk and plenty of home storage space for this stroller.

You'll Want It If: You're looking for a stroller that can accommodate two car seats, love to take outdoor walks, and have plenty of home and car storage space.

The Lowdown: Last year Graco introduced the Twin IPO, the double counterpart to its better-known IPO single. At the surface, the Twin IPO looks like a stylish, lightweight tandem, designed in the similar vein to Maclaren's classic Twin Techno and Twin Triumph. Unfortunately, the Twin IPO's extra pounds and extra inches make it pale in comparison to the other twin strollers, despite its lower price point.

We appreciate the Twin IPO's super-quick one-handed collapse and its incredibly compact fold. In fact, despite being larger than other brands' similar twin strollers, the Twin IPO collapses down more than two inches more.

However, at 32.5 pounds, this stroller is nearly four pounds heavier than most other comparable twin strollers. That's enough of a difference to be noticeable when tilting the Twin IPO up a curb or attempting to lift it into a car trunk. Plus, it's two inches wider, making it difficult to maneuver though indoor door frames. Despite its larger frame, we found its storage less than adequate. A mid-sized diaper bag had to be hung on the stroller's handles. The ride of the Twin IPO is also note for concern. The wheels feel flimsy and handle all rough terrain poorly.

The seats are roomy and the fabric wipes up easily, but the canopies are virtually useless -- they sit too high and do not come down far enough to block out rain or wind.

You'll Want It If: You're looking for a well-priced tandem, with a compact fold, for errands and neighborhood walks.

The Basics: The stroller weighs 30 pounds. Good from birth to 45 pounds per seat. 28.75 inches at the widest point when it's unfolded. Collapses to 31 by 28.75 by 11 inches.

The Lowdown: It's not often that you'll find a double stroller that's tough enough to handle rain, wind, snow and rough terrain, but small enough to lift into the trunk of a midsized sedan (and still have room for groceries!); but that's what you get with Valco Baby's Twin Double Latitude.

Large tires, albeit not air-filled, lend to a smooth ride, even over sand and muddy grass. The continuous handle bar makes one-handed steering a breeze. You won't be able to hang any bags or purses from the back of the stroller, but there is ample storage below.

We also appreciate the Twin Double Latitude's one-handed fold and surprising ability to be stored. It's more compact that comparable models we tested. Plus, the folded configuration of the stroller allows you to pull it behind you like a rollerboard suitcase.

The one major problem with the win Double Latitude stroller is the size of the seats. The seats are shallow and narrow. Plus, we found that older children we're constrained by the high-placement of the footrest. For a $400 tag, the Latitude for 2 should last you most of your stroller years. Unfortunately, children grow out of this stroller in three years at best.

You'll Want It If: You want a stroller that's a combination of narrow and lightweight and able to handle rough terrain, a long walk and inclement weather.

The Lowdown: The Bumbleride Indie Twin stroller is one of the most stylish double strollers on the market. Paired with its air-filled tires, adjustable handlebar, and beautiful, vivid color options, the Indie Twin is one of the most luxurious double strollers we've tried. Still, at $550, there are comparable models on the market that cost $100-$200 less and offer similar benefits.

One of the strongest pluses to the Indie Twin stroller is its suitability to both indoor activities and outdoor activities. Thanks to those air-filled tires and lockable front wheels, the Indie Twin can be used as a jogging stroller and is perfect for use on rough, outdoor terrain. Its frame, however, is slightly lighter and more narrow than similar models, making it better for indoor shopping or more urban activities.

Another fantastic feature is the Indie's large comfortable seats. An adjustable footrest makes the stroller perfect for older children. The Indie comes with an extended zip-off canopy and a rain cover, making it ideal for many types of inclement weather. Storage is adequate, but parents should be aware that the shallowness of the under-carriage storage basket can make it easier for toys or bags to fall out.

The one major drawback to the Indie Twin stroller is its multistep collapsing procedure and less-than-compact fold. Folding the stroller takes two hands, three steps and a lot of strength. It does have a latch to keep it closed, but the larger frame means it takes up the majority of a sedan trunk and is impossible to stash in a closet.

You'll Want If If: You're looking for a sporty double stroller that is perfect for both indoor errands and outdoor activities.

The Basics: 26 pounds. Good from birth to 50 pounds per seat. 29 inches at the widest point when it's unfolded. Collapses to 29.5 by 29 by 11 inches.

The Lowdown: The City Mini Double is Baby Jogger's offering for families who like the idea of a full-sized all-terrain double stroller, but don't want to deal with a stroller that is big and heavy. Compared to their more traditional City Elite model, this stroller is an inch narrower and, at only 26 pounds, 12 pounds lighter. Baby Jogger also offers an even lighter weight double, the City Micro, but we found the Micro to be relatively flimsy and less durable than the City Mini.

The City Mini's maneuverability is one of the best double's we've tried. It turns surprisingly well. We had no problems with it veering toward one side whether we had two children of different weights in the stroller or we're attempting to steer with one hand. The stroller, like comparable models, does not have a particularly compact fold, but we found it small enough to store in a large closet. Plus, its light weight is definitely a positive when trying to hoist the stroller into a car.

The seats in the stroller are comfortable and the fabric appears durable and easy to clean. Potential buyers should note that the stroller is fairly bare bones. The $400 price tag is reasonable for a stroller of this quality. However, you're not getting accessories -- such as rain canopy, seat boots, or car seat adapters -- that you get with similar models. Additionally, we found that the City Mini Double could use more storage. The 2010 model does offer more room in the underseat storage basket, but we still wish that the company included an adult storage compartment or a drink holder.

You'll Want It If: You need a stroller that can handle lots of walking and rough terrain, but still need something that is easy to store and quick to travel with.

BOB Revolution Duallie Stroller

The Basics: 32 pounds. Two months to 50 pounds per seat, though the company recommends waiting until children are 8 months of age prior to using this stroller for jogging or off-roading. 34.1 inches at the widest point when unfolded. Collapses to 45 by 21 by 38.7 inches.*

The Lowdown: BOB is known for the durability and superiority of their jogging strollers, and the Revolution Duallie doesn't disappoint. This stroller offers amazing maneuverability. Sixteen-inch, air-filled tires and a shock absorber suspension system mean that this stroller can be taken over even the roughest of terrain with ease. Children remain relatively unbothered thanks to the Revolution Duallie's impossibly smooth ride. The stroller also features a wheel tracking adjustment lever, to keep your jog straight and smooth.

The wide seats feature durable, removable and machine washable fabric covers. The seats do not have a full recline, but one seat can be used with a infant carrier. The large canopies feature a unique adjusting strap, which better shields kids from sun, wind or rain than comparable models.

Another great feature is the Duallie's plentiful storage. The large cargo basket is perfect for stashing diaper bags or picnic baskets. Back pockets are large and allow easy access for parents. The seats also feature four internal pockets, which allow children to keep small toys, snacks or bottles within reach.

The one drawback of this stroller is its size. Granted, all double jogging strollers on the market are relatively large, but we wish the Duallie fit better through standard doors. The collapse of this stroller is relatively easy, but it does take two hands. Once folded it is bulky. The wheels feature a quick release mechanism to allow for a more compact fold. Plus, BOB also makes a model of the double Revolution with 12-inch wheels that make the stroller smaller. Still, families with sedans should check the dimensions of the stroller prior to purchasing it.

You'll Want It If: Your family is incredibly active and you need a stroller that can keep up.

Joovy Ergo Caboose Stroller

The Basics: 30 pounds. Front seat good from 6 months to 45 pounds. Back seat good from 2 1/2 years to 45 pounds. 24 inches at the widest point when it's unfolded. Collapses to 15 by 24 by 49 inches.

The Lowdown: Some of the more unique strollers on the market are Joovy's sit-and-stand models. The Ergo Caboose is an upgraded version of the brand's original Caboose and features the unique ability to adapt for use with a car seat. This means that parents can get more use out of the stroller, since a newborn can sit in the car seat while a slightly older child can use the front seat. Later, the older child can transition to the back standing area -- which also has a small bench in the case that they get tired -- while the younger child moves up to the front seat.

The Ergo Caboose certainly has its drawbacks. Its boxy design and sizeable height renders the Ergo Caboose unyielding. It can be difficult to control for parents of smaller stature. Plus, the wheels feel rickety and disproportionate to the stroller's bulk. Additionally, while the extended canopy is welcomed, it feels flimsy, at times buckling back towards the children in cases where there is a lot of wind.

The best thing about the Twin Sport is its fold. It's quick and simple to collapse, it's self-standing, and it's no bigger than a large vacuum.
