Chris Daughtry: Rock Songs by Day, Lullabies by Night

"Rock star" and "family man" usually aren't used to describe the same person, but Chris Daughtry doesn't exactly conform to stereotypes.

The "American Idol" alum chatted about his two kids and his wife's pregnancy (they're expecting twins!) with our friends at PopEater, and Daughtry admits that his daddy duties have influenced his song writing.

"Certainly you feel that you don't want to put anything in your music that you wouldn't want your kids listening to," he tells PopEater. "That's always in the back of my mind. Not only do we have a lot of kid fans, but more importantly, we want to be an example to our own kids."

Thought the "Twilight" craze was dying down a bit? Sorry, parents of Twi-hards.

Bluewater Productions released "Fame: Kristen Stewart," a comic book-styled biography, and, faster than a vampire can streak through the forest, all 10,000 copies sold out in one day. Or maybe it sold out so fast because it's combined with the Robert Pattinson story.

Opinion: Why Are We Following Kid Tastemakers?

While your kids swam at camp, read at the beach, or caught up with relatives this summer, other kids were busy building their brands.

A parade of precocious tastemakers have become famous for gaining huge adult followings, including:

  • Tavi Gevinson, a 14-year-old fashion blogger from suburban Chicago, who has had designers in the U.S. and Europe hailing both her biting commentary and her out-there style sense;
  • Jackson Murphy, an 11-year-old from upstate New York, who just won a local Emmy for his televised movie reviews and is being trumpeted as the next Roger Ebert; and
  • Remy Mumby, a 10-year-old foodie from Lansing, Mich., star of a website where fans view and read about his encounters with unlikely delicacies like scorpions. He just signed a book deal.

All three kids are bright and entertaining, and have every right to share their opinions online or in videos. The question is: Why should any adults listen to them, or other youthful critics? There are plenty of film, food, and fashion writers out there who bring life experience and more fully-developed skills to the task. No knock on these youngsters, but on the merits, they can't compete with the pros.

Lindsay Lohan's Mother Says Actress Will Move East

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

NEW YORK (AP) - Lindsay Lohan's mom says the actress will be moving away from California and back to New York after she gets out of drug rehabilitation.

Dina Lohan, during an often tense interview with NBC "Today" show co-host Matt Lauer on Friday, said her daughter was doing "wonderfully" after 14 days in jail and lashed out at California Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel, who put the actress there.

"She's great," Lohan said. "She's been through a lot. The judge played hardball. Lindsay was in with alleged murderers and she's become friends with a lot of them. Lindsay rolled with the punches and she's doing wonderfully."

Lindsay Lohan served 14 days of a 90-day jail sentence for violating her probation in a 2007 drug case. She was sent to a UCLA drug rehab facility for a court-mandated three-month treatment, and her mother said she'd be out soon.

Cheat Sheet: Emma Watson, the Great AOL Kids Giveaway, Taylor Swift

Emma Watson

A collective gasp went out among Harry Potter and Emma Watson fans alike today, as
she unveiled her new super-short, pixie hairdo. With her tiny frame and face this haircut is actually extremely flattering on her, and we'll admit we're insanely jealous of how FAB she looks ... we'd rather see this 'do everywhere than that horrid Kate Gosselin cut from a couple months back. Though we feel it's our duty to warn you that this cut is very youthful and won't work if you don't have a youthful, carefree personality!

To celebrate their new relaunch, and re-branding, AOL Kids (formerly KOL) is doing a month of giveaways. Every single weekday during The Great AOL Kids Giveaway there are amazing prizes up for grabs. Mid month there's an iPod Touch, yes you read that right, an iPod Touch, and it will culminate in the mother of all prizes for the finale, to be revealed Aug. 16. Don't miss a single prize, check out the breakdown of all the prizes.

Taylor Swift is back with new music, but not without drama. Her new single, "Mine," was scheduled to be released on Aug. 16, but after the MP3 leaked online on Wednesday, her label rushed to release the song 12 days early. Big Machine Records issued a statement saying the leak was "low-quality," and fans should hear the true version of single on iTunes or country radio. After downloading both versions, the label is right the leak was really bad quality. This might be a good time to remind your children of how Internet piracy of music hurts everyone, even our very own ears.

NEW YORK (AP) - Rudy Giuliani's daughter was arrested Wednesday on a misdemeanor shoplifting charge at a beauty supplies store after she was seen on security video pocketing makeup, police said.

Caroline Giuliani, a 20-year-old Harvard University student, was seen taking five items worth more than $100 at a Sephora store in Manhattan, New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne said.

Store managers, after calling police, said they didn't want to press charges against her, Browne said. But police arrested her on a petty larceny charge, he said.

Giuliani, wearing black pants and a red sweater and with her arms folded, exited a police precinct Wednesday evening and quickly got into an SUV with her mother. She did not respond to reporters' questions.

Her father, through a spokeswoman, said the case was a personal matter and asked the media to respect her privacy.

Gisele Bundchen: Women Should Be Forced to Breast-Feed

When a supermodel speaketh, thou shalt listen.

Now that Brazilian bombshell Gisele Bundchen has been a mom to baby Benjamin for all of seven months, she has decreed, "There should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months," the U.K.'s Daily Mail reports. Upon the beginning of the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action's World Breastfeeding Week, her timing is just perfect.

And, posing for a photo shoot merely six weeks after giving birth, the 5 foot, 11 inch, 30-year-old Bundchen tells U.K.'s Harper's Bazaar, "I think breastfeeding really helped (me keep me figure)."

Perhaps, but we're pretty sure diet, exercise and -- sigh -- genetics played major roles, too. Still, we respect that she physically and mentally trained to prepare for childbirth.

Bethenny Frankel Dishes on Motherhood and Breast-Feeding

Forget the single and carefree Bethenny Frankel you grew to love on "The Real Housewives of New York City." It's time to get to know the new Frankel who married Jason Hoppy back in March, and gave birth to their daughter, Bryn, four months ago.

That's right: The savvy Manhattan businesswoman who created the Skinny Girl brand is now shifting her attention to changing diapers and tending to her baby.

And, along with her new starring role as Mommy, Frankel has partnered with Ameda breast pumps to kick off the company's "I Breastfeed Because ..." campaign, created in honor of World Breastfeeding Week, Aug. 1-7.

The reality star chatted with ParentDish about the joys of parenthood and why her decision to nurse was a no-brainer.

Michelle Duggar Chats About Her Breast Milk Ban and Losing the Baby Weight (Again)

Michelle Duggar recently returned to her Tontitown, Arkansas home with her newborn Josie, who arrived three months early. Like any mom of a preemie, there's a lot of "don't touch the baby" going on in the Duggar household, what with 18 others germing up the joint.

But the reality TV star of 19 Kids and Counting has got it covered. The 43-year-old uber mom spoke to ParentDish by phone yesterday about life with a preemie, the surprising cause of her baby's upset tummy and her own plans for losing the (19th) baby weight. An edited version of the interview follows.

ParentDish: Welcome home. How are you feeling?
Michelle Duggar: I'm doing good. I feel much better than I did 7½ months ago, that's for sure. I'm so glad to have Josie home.

PD: Tell me about Josie? Is she your first preemie?
MD:
Our second set of twins, Jedidiah and Jeremiah, came at about five weeks before their due date, but they were 5 lbs. each. They were in the hospital for about nine days. Jeremiah's lung collapsed and he had antibiotics. They're 11 years old now and just fine.

PD: Now about Josie.
MD:
We are so thankful. It could've been much more serious. We're grateful that it was a diet change that made the difference for her. We changed from breast milk to a predigested formula that has no lactose, and within 12 hours she was better. And, within a week, she was pooing on her own, without us having to give her an enema. She was a totally different baby a week later.

PD: Wow, breast milk was the culprit?
MD:
Typically, they never want to take a preemie off breast milk, but in her case the lactose in my milk was causing a problem. Her body was not producing lactase, which breaks down the lactose.

Chelsea Clinton's Wedding Is Our Royal Wedding - And We Needed It!

Chelsea Clinton gets married

If there has ever been a time when we needed some fantasy and distraction from all the depressing news out there, it's now!

And what could be better than the extravagant and luxurious (but tasteful) wedding of a young woman we've all watched grow up?

Even though we haven't had true royalty in America since we ejected the Brits more than two centuries ago, it doesn't mean that we don't have a taste for pageantry and intrigue - and we've satiated our desires with Chelsea Clinton's picture perfect wedding.

At 30, the bride is an accomplished, well-liked woman, whose fairytale nuptials included a $25,000 custom-made Vera Wang wedding gown. The country's top wedding couturier also designed Chelsea's bridesmaid and flower girl dresses, while designer Oscar de la Renta -- who has complained that he has never dressed First Lady Michelle Obama -- outfitted Chelsea's mom, Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of State in a stunning floaty fuschia gown.

Being famous comes with a lot of perks but there's a downside, too. Just ask Anthony Field, from the popular kiddie group The Wiggles.

Ever since Field, best known as the blue Wiggle, helped form the band back in 1990, he started touring with his cast mates. And while performing on hundreds of stages eight months out of the year was fun in the beginning, that all changed when Field became a father. Now, in an exclusive interview with ParentDish, the father of three reveals how tough the road can be for a dad.

ParentDish: You and your wife of seven years, Miki, have three children.
Anthony Field: Yes. Lucia is 6 years old, Maria is 4 years old and Antonio is 3 years old.

PD: How do you explain or what do you say to your kids when you are getting ready to go on tour?
AF: I explain things to each of my children based on their age level. With Antonio, I say I am going over to the states to find some toys for you. Lucia has grown up with this so she understands Daddy is going off to work and because of Daddy's job, she can live in a nice house and go to school.
