I like Anthony Kiedis. I like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I don't think Anthony is close to honing his parenting skills. Recently Kiedis was spotted riding around in one of those electric gem cart type thingees with his son Everly, eight months old, strapped to him in a baby bjorn. So, in other words, the kid wasn't in a car seat.

According to TMZ, who has picture perfect proof of the whole incident, the RHCP lead singer clearly learned nothing from Britney Spears. Does he not realize that every single parenting move Brit has made since she was photographed allegedly fleeing the paparazzi with her toddler between her lap and the steering wheel has been called into question and grilled under scrutiny?

And, not that this is any excuse, but it's not like Anthony is a young dude with no clue. He's in his forties (and still looking mighty fine, although less so now that he's pulled this stupid move) and, I'm sorry, should just know better. He has no excuse for being this unbelievably careless and stupid. And no, Anthony, it didn't look cool. I don't care how many drugs you did back in the 80's, it's no excuse for endangering your child. What a _____________.

Bring on the pink, Auntie Brit-Brit!

Jamie Lynn Spears, star of Zoey 101 and her fiance Casey Aldridge became proud parents to a baby daughter, Maddie Briann, around 9:30 a.m. at the Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Miss.

The bundle of sugar and spice weighed in at 7lbs, 11ozs, which is pretty impressive given Jamie Lynn's petite frame! Both mother and baby are said to be doing well.

Here's hoping little Maddie (who is the first granddaughter for grandparents Jamie and Lynn Spears and will no doubt be adored her her Spears cousins Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James 1) signifies the start of healthier and happier times for the entire Spears clan.

Goodness knows that family has been through enough head-shaving, umbrella waving, baby dropping, car smashing, crotch flashing times to last a lifetime!

In a sign that we really are approaching the End of Days, Kevin Federline has been award the title "Father of the Year."

The good news is that honor was bestowed on Popozao by the Las Vegas nightclub where the former Mr. Britney Spears is scheduled host a party, at which time the unofficial honor will be awarded. (You know, because that's where all the great dads hang out, in Vegas at a club in the wee hours of the morning.)

Tatum O'Neal, star of television's hit series Rescue Me and former child celebrity, has been arrested. Ms. O'Neal, daughter of Ryan O'Neal and former wife of tennis champ John McEnroe, who won an Oscar for her performance in Paper Moon, was arrested in New York City for allegedly buying cocaine!

At her arraignment, the actress, now 44, offered no plea. She is due back in court on July 28th. O'Neal has made no small secret of her addiction problems. Recently, she reached out to another troubled young star, Britney Spears, in an effort to help turn the fallen pop starlet's life around.

Police allegedly found two bags of cocaine in one of O'Neal's front pockets after claiming to see her accept them from a man during a routine drug sweep. Prosecutors are recommending drug treatment rather than jail time for the star, who recounts her problems with both heroin and cocaine in a 2004 memoir titled "A Paper Life."

According to Perez Hilton, who always seems to know more (or claims to know more) than the average online media source, O'Neal claims she was researching the part of a junkie and not buying the cocaine for real. Perez also notes she asked the police if they knew who she was when they approached her. I don't care how good an actress she is, i don't think anyone's going to buy that story!

Shortly after Jamie Lynn Spears was spotted in a Babies R Us store, PEOPLE magazine found what they believe to be the online registry of the teen Nickelodeon star. It's difficult not to be struck by the difference between this one and Jennifer Lopez's wish list at Petit Tresor.

There weren't any cashmere sweater sets or faux mink blankets on Jamie Lynn's' registry, just ordinary baby necessities: bottles, a convertible car seat, teethers, outlet covers,a breast pump. The petite sixteen-year-old also registered for Winnie the Pooh flannel receiving blankets, Sesame Street bibs, and a Cookie Monster bath towel.

My heart goes out to Jamie Lynn. Not only is she faced with the challenges and emotional turmoil of becoming a mother at such a young age, she's doing it while her parents are occupied with her older sister's mental/emotional/drug/whatever problems, and seems to be left on her own quite a bit.

Perhaps she's really independent and wants space from her mother, but I found pictures of Jamie Lynn going to Babies R Us with a girlfriend instead of her mom really sad.

After all, she's not all that far from the Winnie-the-Pooh years herself.

According to People magazine, Jamie Lynn Spears is now sporting an engagement ring along with her baby bump. The Zoey 101 star is said to have been flashing a diamond ring from eighteen-year-old boyfriend Casey Aldridge to friends and family.

Jamie Lynn sparked new discussions on teen pregnancies when the sixteen-year-old announced her pregnancy earlier this year.

Marriage has proved to be challenging for the Spears family. Jamie Lynn's parents are divorced and her sister has been divorced twice if you count the Las Vegas annulment. I'm not sure getting married just because you are pregnant is the best choice for a sixteen year old.

It's almost as if Britney Spears has gone back in time and is re-living her teenage years.

After a series of breakdowns, her father is living with her and is taking care of the pop singers finances. Papa Spears has limited her contact with the unsavory crowd she was hanging with, has put her on a weekly allowance, is said to be cooking square meals, and has even thrown away his oldest daughter's pink wigs.

The latest daddy decree is that some of Britney's car collection should be whittled down to pay the bills and save on upkeep.

Britney's garage housed some pretty non-soccermomish wheels: two white Mercedes (a SL65 and a CLK350), a black Audi, and a Mini Cooper Convertible.

Whatever he's doing, it seems to be working but it has to be highly uncomfortable to take control of your adult child's life.

Minnie Driver is taking cues from other celebrity moms, revealing she's pregnant after a crack about her weight (like Lisa Marie Presley), making the announcement on late night TV (like Britney did when she was expecting Jayden James), and is keeping mum about who the father is (like Northern Exposure's Janine Turner).

The 38 year old Oscar nominee said she's four months "and a little bit" and has been plagued with the dreaded morning sickness that lasts all day.

If Jamie Lynn Spears' purchases at recent shopping trip to Petit Tresor, favored boutique of celebrity parents were for herself, it looks like Jayden James and Sean Preston are getting a boy cousin.

The Zoey 101 star bought light blue items that big sister Britney claimed were for her sons, but it seems unlikely the 1 and 2 year olds would have a need for infant blankets or teeny pajamas.

This is the part of being a celebrity I don't understand. They have to know every single purchase is going to be scrutinized and blabbed about AND they are rich.

Why not just freak out the tabloids (and make them lose all credibility) by buying a stroller for 6, multiple cribs, car seats, clothing of all the wrong sex and then quietly donate it all to a charity or child care organization? If I was a celebrity being followed and spied on, I'd at least have fun with it! (I'd keep the pregnancy quiet and encourage the "She's gotten so fat!" stories by working with Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers, but that's just me.)

It may only be coincidence, but as Britney Spears rose in popularity from bubblegum princess to queen of pop, so did the popularity of the baby name "Britney." In the early 90s, it enjoyed top 10 status, even reaching a respectable number four. Even as late as 1997, the name was still in the top 20. Today, it's nowhere to be found and has been replaced by names like Ava, Abigail, Cailyn, Madeline, and Isabella.

Of course, the popularity of baby names change with the times, so who knows? Maybe when Britney finally makes her comeback, or at least stops having her saddest moments televised on national TV, we'll find that there's a whole new generations of little Britneys running around.

This past Saturday quietly marked another reunion for the soap-opera-like Spears family: Britney was reunited with her boys.

Sure, it was only for three hours I doubt it could have been a tender mother and child reunion with her father, her psychiatrist, and a body guard all keeping a watchful eye and not allowing her to leave their line of vision, but for the first time since January 3rd, Sean Preston and Jayden James were in the same room as their mother.

This is probably the best thing for those little boys, they get to see Mommy, but aren't dependent on her in any way to take care of their needs.

At least it's a start, anyway.

Britney Spear's recent hospital stay, reconciliation with her parents, and time away from skeevy friends seems to be having a positive effect on her life.

The entertainer has been avoiding the night life and hasn't shown her girlie bits or been spotted hanging out at convenience stores for days. Her dad was even photographed throwing out one of the pink wigs she tends to be wear when things start getting really out of control.

The new-and-improved Britney has even added a line to her resume: teacher. The singer and dancer taught an hour long dance class to six children at the Millennium dance studio where she's been putting in time polishing her own moves.

"The class was amazing," Robert Baker, director of the Millennium Dance Complex told PEOPLE magazine. "She even played age-appropriate games in a circle, pretending to be a choo-choo train," Baker said. "Britney was just amazing with the kids and everyone ended up having a blast. At the end of the hour class, all the kids hugged Britney and she seemed very happy."

While it's really great to hear Britney seems to be getting better, I'd still have a hard time leaving any of my kids with her. What about you?

I want to hate Kevin Federline. After all, what kind of jerk leaves the pregnant mother of his children for another woman?

But I'm having a hard time keeping up the Federhatin'. Because after that initial lapse of judgment (I'm talking about Popaozoa, of course) and under all the stupid gangsta posturing, Kevin seems like he might be a decent guy.

The twenty-nine year old stepped up and assumed full custody of his two sons with after Britney's breakdowns, and has successfully managed to keep the toddlers out of the glare of the paparazzi, which is no small feat. He's also on friendly terms with his first baby momma, as well as with Britney's family, from whom she is estranged.

And word is, because of the precariousness of Britney's mental health, Federline has put the brakes on a reality show based on his life as a single father. The interest in all things Britney would undoubtedly make the show an instant hit and bring in a lot of money, but for the sake of his family, Federline has taken the high road.

Good call, Kevin. Now work on trying not to look such a cocky tool in photographs.

US magazine has a copy of the restraining order filed by Jamie Spears against his daughter Britney's manager Sam Lufti and the details of how the mentally disturbed singer's life was being controlled is chilling.

According to Britney's mother:

• Lufti told her he had been hiding medication in Britney's food
• He claimed to have disabled Britney's cars so she could not leave without his knowledge
• He cut the phone line to the house and threw out all Britney's cell phone chargers
• When Britney asked Lufti when she could see her babies, he said "Wednesday" but only if she did what he told her to do
• Lufti threatened what would happen if he weren't in the house to give Britney her medicine, "If you try to get rid of me, she'll be dead and I'll piss on her grave."
• Lufti said he receives Britney's checks and dictates everything and everyone around the singer. "You'd better learn that I control everything. I control Howard Grossman, Britney's business manger. I control her attorney's and the security guards at the gate. They don't listen to Britney, they listen to me."
• Lufti told Britney she was an unfit mother, a piece of trash and a whore, that she cares more about her paparazzi boyfriend Adnan than her children, and that she does not deserve her kids.

The allegations were convincing enough for a judge to grant the restraining order and Lufti must stay 250 yards away from the singer and the UCLA Medical Center, as well as the homes of her parents, her siblings, her children and the singer's residences.

I read this stuff and say a little prayer of gratitude for my boring, average life.

Barbara Walters had something interesting to bring to the discussion table on The View this morning.

Sam Lufti, longtime hanger-onner, and sometimes manager of Britney Spears called the matriarch of the popular talk show to share the news that Spears is seeking help for what Walters called, "mental issues which are treatable."

"She has been to a psychiatrist," Walters said, recounting Lutfi's explanation over the phone. "She, I assume, is starting some kind of treatment."

If this is true, it's good news for the singer's two young sons who have not been allowed to see their mother since her apparent nervous breakdown at the beginning of the month.

That incident, along with steady stream of other bizarre behaviors, has led many to make armchair diagnoses of Spears ranging from multiple personality disorder to post-partum depression to spoiled brattiness and prompted a judge to award Kevin Federline sole custody of the couple's children.
