Matthew McConaughey will plant his son's placenta
Newborns, Pregnancy & birth, Celeb kids, Celeb parenting
Matt McConaughey's bongo drums aren't just for show; the man is earthy and he's not afraid to show it. His costars have to learn to put up with his "natural scent," since he refuses to wear deodorant. And after the birth of his son Levi in July, he saved the placenta to plant at a later date."It's going to be in the orchards," he told CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta, "And it's going to bear some wonderful fruit." The new dad apparently got the idea from a trip to Australia, where he met a tribe who had a placenta tree where all new babies' placentas are buried.
Honestly, I don't care what people do with their children's placentas. But don't Matt and Levi's mom, Camila Alves live in a motorhome? Where do they keep that thing -- next to the frozen breastmilk in the freezer? I can't be sure, but I'm guessing sharing a home and parenthood with Matthew means never having a dull moment.
Levi McConaughey delivered via emergency C-section
Newborns, Pregnancy & birth, Health & safety, Celeb parenting
Matthew MConaughey is enjoying his new life as a daddy, but it's a life that got started with a bang: son Levi was delivered via emergency C-section. The Sahara actor claims little Levi, recently born to Mconohottie and girlfriend Camila Alves, had his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck.
After two days of labor--yes, TWO DAYS--doctors stepped in and performed the emergency Cesarean. Both MConaughey and Alves had wanted a natural birth. Alves says she wanted whatever was best for her and the baby, so a C-section it was. What a dramatic way to enter the world! Thankfully, mom, new baby, and daddy were all ok and are doing well. In other reports, the actor claims that being a father is natural to him and something he's wanted--and chronicled wanting--since he was a kid himself. How cute is that?
Interestingly enough, it seems like more and more celebrity moms are giving birth via C-section. And, more often than not, there is some health-related explanation attached to it. Do you buy it or do you think it's just an excuse?
Levi McConaughey fetches $3 million on his first photo shoot

Little Levi Alves McConaughey just made his mommy and daddy a wee bit richer. The newborn son of actor Matthew McConaughey and Brazilian supermodel Camila Alves earned $3 million for his first photos, which the proud parents have sold to OK! Magazine.
Whether or not you agree if it's appropriate for the parents to be pimping out selling the photos of their young son to the press for some cold hard cash, there is one thing upon which I think we can all agree: that baby is cute. No doubt, given the serious hotness of both his parents, this will be the first of many times he graces the pages of a magazine.
Apparently the real winners in this deal are the folks at OK!, who allegedly also get first shot and the family's first Christmas and the wedding should McConohottie and his girlfriend decide to tie the knot. I find that very, very odd. I mean, I sent pictures of a holiday photo of my new family at Snapfish and sent those around to friends and relatives, but having OK! parade them around to millions seems a little out there to me. What do you think?
McConoHottie explains son's name
Newborns, Pregnancy & birth, Life & style, Celeb parenting, Rumors, That's entertainment

As we advised you earlier (along with every major media source in the known universe), Matthew "McHottie" McConaughey became a daddy earlier today. At press time, we had no name for the baby of the actor/hunk and his girlfriend, Brazilian supermodel Camila Alves.
Well, now that has changed! Not only do we know the name, we have the reasoning behind it. Even though Matthew is a normal enough name, we all know those in Hollywood would not settle for anything so commonplace as John or Jack or Dan. McConaughey named his son Levi.
According to the new father himself, Levi is another name for Matthew. Additionally, the child was born at 6:22 PM, and 6:22 is the actor's favorite passage in the bible: 'If thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light.' The baby's full name is Levi Alves McConaughey. Congrats to the new parents!
McConaughey is a daddy!

Hottie McHottie Matthew McConaughey can now add daddy to his resume. The Sahara star and his girlfriend, Camila Alves, a Brazilian supermodel, welcomed a bouncing baby boy into the world yesterday. The child is the first for both.
Says McConaughey, who claims to have been by Camila's side throughout the entire event, both are tired and elated. He went on to talk about a child being a miracle of life--my husband said the same thing after I gave birth to our son--and the adventure he and Camila are embarking on in raising the new baby.
The child, unnamed as of press time, weighed in at seven pounds, four ounces. Regardless of what they name him, their new bundle of joy should be gorgeous! The pregnancy was revealed by Mateo in January of this year--doesn't it seem a little early for the birth? How time flies, I guess!
Congrats to the couple on what is sure to be the adventure of a lifetime!
McConaughey's mom wants him to wed
Love & sex, Bump watch, Celeb parenting, Rumors, In the news

Matthew McConaughey's mom wants him to marry the mother of his first child, according to reports. When Matthew, who we all felt a confirmed bachelor, called his mom to share the good news his mother hoped he would get married.
What--she wants him to SETTLE DOWN? Does she know her son? Do stars even need to get married anymore? As I've reported before, plenty of female celebrities with child have chosen to remain single, so why should their male counterparts not follow suit?
I think Matthew put it best in his comments to Playboy magazine when he said that he believed in the institution of marriage, but doesn't feel that people have to get married. "A kid just needs a mom and a dad." Well, if he takes his cue from some Hollywood mothers, their children don't even need that! They can get along just fine with only one parent.
Will Matthew McConaughey marry his girlfriend Camila Alves, who is three months pregnant with his bambino? Maybe, maybe not. But that kid will definitely have two loving parents.
