Celebrity Post-Baby Diet Tips

Eating & Nutrition, Celeb Parenting

Salma HayekBy now we all know a little bit about how star mamas look so fabulous mere moments after giving birth.

They have those little extras, like personal chefs, personal trainers and the resources to devote solely to looking amazing. Don't even get me started on their best secret: Expert tailors.

Yeah, yeah. But what tips do they have that everyone else can actually follow? Christina Aguilera says her post-baby body bounce-back was all about the breastfeeding. For Halle Berry, it was yoga and swimming. Then there's sensible Salma Hayek.

"It was so hard because I gained a lot of weight and had gestational diabetes," Hayek told Oprah in 2008. "As soon as the baby was out, like many other new moms, I thought 'I'll just lose the weight. I'll breastfeed and it will fall off.'" As if.

The only approach is to take your time. "There are shortcuts, but it's not good for the baby," she continued. "But I'm still losing even if it's slow, and I've been working out...and the rest is going to go when it's time to go."

With miles of walking-it-off and some helpful family genes (thanks, Mom!), I lost most of my baby weight within a year. This was a nice thing. But for seriously helpful tips for taking off post-baby weight, check out the celebrity mom weight-loss secrets over at Celebrity Diet & Fitness.

Kelly Osbourne to write memoirs

Money & Work, Fun & Activities, Celeb Kids, Life & Style, Celeb Parenting, Rumors, That's Entertainment

Twenty-three-year-old celebrity kid Kelly Osbourne is set to write her memoirs. The "Papa Don't Preach" cover singer, who is famous basically for having a famous dad, will publish an autobiography of what it's like to grow up as the child of metal rock god Ozzy Osbourne.

Kelly has been to rehab twice, allegedly for painkillers, and apparently was ensnared in some sort of controversy with singer Christina Aguilera, which will also be chronicled. We've seen most of Kelly already, as she starred alongside daddy Osbourne and mother Sharon Osbourne in a reality television series presented by MTV.

Mom Sharon, who also serves as Ozzie's manager (and has for many years, basically rocketing him to stardom), has already written her memoirs. Like mother like daughter, I guess! Virgin Books in the UK will publish the latest from the Osbourne clan.

I want to see a book from daughter Amy, who allegedly refused to have anything to do with the reality series!

Christina Aguilera: Breast-dressed Hollywood momma!

Life & Style, Celeb Parenting

Besides the health benefits for the baby and supposed post partum weight loss (that I somehow missed out on), breast feeding offers another fringe benefit: an impressive decolletage!

If you grew up chestically challenged (like me!) this is an enormous perk, but in the case of Christina Aguilera, who despite a petite physique started out rather buxom, you get a chest that's, well............alphabetically impressive.

"It's kind of hilarious! I've never fit into an E-cup before," Aquilera shared with US Weekly.

But the new mom of baby Max Liron doesn't seem down about the way her chest has filled out.

"I look at my husband and go, 'Guess what size this bra is?' And when I tell him, he's just amazed. We keep the tags that prove it, to look back for memory's sake!"

For memory and recycling sake, you should keep some of those old nursing bras too, Christina! You could use them to transport produce like watermelon or cantaloupe from the market, store Liam's basketballs in the garage when he starts getting into sports, or as a parachute in case of an emergency landing!

(Don't listen to me, it's just my flat-chestedness getting the breast best of me!)

Fergie cites Gwen as great mom

Just For Moms, Pregnancy & Birth, Money & Work, Health & Safety, Bump Watch, Life & Style, Celeb Parenting, Rumors, That's Entertainment

Fergie is not pregnant. At least not right now. If she were, though, she says she'd hit up Gwen Stefani for advice.

The pop star dishes on pregnancy and Gwen in an upcoming issue of Glamour magazine. And don't act like you don't read Glamour--come on, you know you do. It's fun, doesn't take itself too seriously, and actually has a pretty good selection of articles. But I digress.

Fergie says Gwen has done a great job as a mom. She also comments that she wouldn't want to tour like some of her other fellow pop starlets J Lo, Christina Aguilera and of course Gwen Stefani (who seems bent on world domination whether or not she's pregnant).

The reason for this? Well, Fergie considers herself pretty active on stage. She's a physical gal and doesn't think she'd be able to hold herself back. Instead she'd take time off to read up on her theoretical impending bundle of joy.

Lisa Marie Presley suing over weight, pregnancy outing

Just For Moms, Pregnancy & Birth, Money & Work, Bump Watch, Celeb Parenting, Rumors, In The News, That's Entertainment

Lisa Marie Presley is mad. Suing mad. Pregnant suing mad. The target of her rage is a tabloid magazine who called her out on her weight, forcing Lisa Marie to reveal her pregnancy.

The magazine went as far as comparing her to her late father, the great Elvis Presley, whose own weight ballooned before he infamously passed away. Lisa Marie's spokeswoman (how is this different than a publicist?) agreed the stories had gone too far, especially those concerning her late father and her relationship with her mother, Priscilla Presley. Claims were made Lisa Marie and her mother were fighting over her weight.

The fallout from this is that Lisa Marie felt forced to reveal that she was not, in fact, "fat" but that she was pregnant. I feel awful for her, really. Other celebrity moms seem to have been able to fend off the press--Angelina Jolie, JLo and Christina Aguilera come to mind.

Clearly the press picked the wrong pregnant celeb to pick a fight with. This one is suing. Depending on the outcome, others may follow. After all, a woman's pregnancy--and the ability to keep it to herself--is her right. Once she has the baby, however, then she's going to have to say SOMETHING. )

Christina Aguilera terrified of childbirth

Pregnancy & Birth, Celeb Kids, Celeb Parenting

I've heard many reasons for having a C-section, ranging from "failure to progress" to the baby being too big for the mother to birth, breech positioning, or an emergency situation necessitating an immediate birth for the safety of the baby and/or the mother.

But I've never heard of a doctor performing a C-section because the mother said, "I'd heard horror stories about tearing. I really wanted a calm and peaceful environment. I didn't want any surprises." which is what Christina Aguilera shared in her interview on the birth of her son with Hello! magazine.

Whew! It's good she was able to get the unknowns of the birthing process out of the way. Any parent can tell you THAT is the only part of life with a kid that is unpredictable. From that point on, every day with a kid goes according to the itinerary you set up for them a month in advance! (Sarcasm font off)

Christina Aguilera explains her son's name

Newborns, Pregnancy & Birth, Celeb Kids, Life & Style, Celeb Parenting

It was a beautiful day indeed when little Max Liron joined Christina Aguilera and her husband Jordan Bratman in the world. Last week the pop singer finally gave birth the a fabulous bouncing baby boy but it wasn't for several days that she released an announcement, and shared with the world her new love's name--and the meaning behind it.

According to the Perez Hilton website, your source for all things celebrity-baby related, the word "Liron" means "My Song" in Hebrew. "Max" means "the greatest." Hence, Max Liron is Christina's greatest song. For a woman known for her amazing voice, that may be the sweetest thing I've ever heard.

Far too often we end up with celebrity kid names that veer so far off the charts it's hard to imagine calling and asking for that person on the phone. Of course to each their own, and we can only assume that the most common and the most unusual celebrity baby names have significant meaning for the parents.

The name Max Liron is gorgeous and elegant, much like the singer herself. Mama Christina has certainly come a long way since those ass-less chaps she paraded around in.

And now she is the mama to a brand new boy with a beautiful name. Congratulations, Christina!

Pregnant Aguilera on cover of Marie Claire

Bump Watch, That's Entertainment

Christina Augilera is having a pretty good month. Not only did she make Maxim's Hottest Pregnant Celebrities Ever list, she also landed the cover of Marie Claire in all her nekkid pregnant glory.

Baring it all for magazine while pregnant is still a relatively new phenomeon. Demi Moore created a furor in 1991 when she appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair wearing nothing but jewelery in her final trimester. Some retailors refused to carry the magazine, while others offered in wrapped in brown paper to protect the public from the site of a bare swollen belly.

Since then, many famous expectant moms have bared it all (or nearly all) for magazines, but for some reason an exposed pregnant body still seems to shake the sensibilities of many.

Jennifer Lopez makes it official-video

Bump Watch

First Christina Aguilera and now Jennifer Lopez is confirming what we already knew: Baby on board!

The Latin singer thrilled the crowds at her last concert by announcing she and husband Marc Anthony were expecting. Anthony seemed as surprised as anyone else.

"I did not expect her to say anything." he told the crowd.

Lopez didn't share her due date or whether she was expecting twins, but perhaps she gave a clue as to the occupancy rate of her uterus in this photo?

Lopez said she waited until her last concert of the tour to announce her good news because she didn't want her fans to worry about anything but the show. After several months of touring, Lopez said she would take some much needed time off.

"Now we will go away for awhile," she said.

(Caution! Video contains A LOT of shrieking when the announcement is made, so don't accidentally wake your babies!)

She's having a baby! Aguilera confirms the obvious

Bump Watch, Celeb Parenting, Rumors, In The News

Christina Aguilera is finally ready to admit what everyone has already known for months: she's pregnant.

The Grammy winner told Glamour magazine in an interview she would be "entering mommyhood" next year and that she intends to be a working mother, balancing both a career and a child. "I want to get it right," she says.

Aguilera also took the opportunity to sing the praises of husband of two years, Jordan Bratman.

" He's thrilled! He's just great........(He's been) so supportive and amazing through everything. He came with me on the last leg of the tour and he was my support system. ... I gush. I'm a lucky girl."

I've been wondering if keeping a celebrity pregnancy quiet for as long as possible deflects media attention or actually attracts more. What do you think?

Christina Aguilera pregnant with twins?

Bump Watch, Celeb Parenting, Rumors

Christina Aguilera's pregnancy has been anything but normal. Before she even got the chance to formally announce that she was having a baby, her secret was unexpectedly revealed to the public by Paris Hilton over a nightclub PA system -- and now rumors are circulating that the pop diva might be expecting twins.

The only report so far comes from the New York Daily News, who site "a reliable source" -- so who knows how long it'll be before there's any official word. But if the rumors are true, this would mean Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman would be doubling the size of their family -- from two, to four!

I can't imagine what it would be like to have two newborns in the house at once, but both Aguilera and her husband seem dedicated to their new family, so I'm sure they'll do just fine.

Jennifer Lopez: how rich people get ready for baby

Bump Watch, Celeb Kids, Life & Style, Celeb Parenting, Baby Essentials, Kid Decor & Style

They haven't officially announced a pregnancy, but I think we can safely assume that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are going to be parents. Besides the rather noticeable bulge around J. Lo's middle, there is the fact that the couple were spotted doing a little shopping at Petit Tresor, an upscale baby boutique in Los Angeles.

OK! Magazine reports that Lopez and Anthony visited the store Wednesday and dropped a whopping $50,000 on nursery decor. According to a source, the theme for the room will be Nursery Rhymes and will include custom-painted murals on the walls.

$50,000 is a lot of money to spend getting ready for baby (or babies), but that is just the beginning. Friends and family wishing to buy a gift for the new addition(s) have an expensive list of items from which to choose. The couple's baby registry includes a gorgeous Garden Bunny Chandelier, a Mink Rug, and an adorable little Princess Trike. Interesting note - they are requesting only one of each item. Maybe she's not carrying twins? Also, according to the registry, the baby is due May 10th.

If you are looking to get a little something for Christina Aguilera or Nicole Richie, you can choose from the few items on their lists. Happily, Miley Cyrus, aka Hannah Montana, does not have a gift registry listed.

Katie Holmes is pregnant again...not!

Celeb Kids, Celeb Parenting, Rumors

Do we think perhaps the celebrity baby bump watch has finally gone too far? Perhaps--after Stephen Colbert pondered whether HE was sporting one earlier this week on the Colbert Report.

Apparently the fashion-savvy Ms. Holmes was sporting a bump of her own--rather, a very flouncy Balenciaga dress that made her look like she was possibly trying to hide another bun in her oven.

That mini-rumor giving little Suri a baby sibling has been stopped dead in its tracks, I'm afraid. At least for now. Holmes, hubby Tom Cruise and camp are denying everything, which means nothing these days given the denials of Christina Aguilera and JLo.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but it finally occurred to me that celebrities go through the trouble of denying pregnancy rumors for so long because it's still less work than having their every move as a mom-to-be critiqued by the media and the public.

I'd deny it too, for as long as possible! The truth is whenever a female celebrity gets pregnant the truth is going to come out--along with her baby bump--soon enough.

Pamela Anderson wants everyone to know it was NOT a shotgun wedding

Bump Watch, Celeb Parenting, Rumors, Playground Bureau

Pamela Anderson tied the knot with husband #3, Rick Salomon, last weekend in a quick wedding ceremony in Vegas between her performances in a magic show.

In a matter of days rumors that it was a shotgun wedding surfaced in magazines and websites. In an effort to squelch the baby talk, on October 3 Anderson wrote on her blog:

Not pregnant. Just very happy. Started ozone therapy. Healthy as can be. Very exciting.

Because the press recnetly heard the same story from Jennifer Lopez but saw her tour costumes getting tighter in the belly region every week, the talk of a Anderson/Salomon pregnancy continued unabated.

"Please tell everybody – categorically I am not pregnant," Anderson told former Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous host Robin Leach.

It appears the best way to get out of pregnancy rumors is the Christina Aguilera silent approach.
