Ashton Kutcher's new site inspired by Demi Moore's daughters

Teens & tweens, Celeb Parenting

Ashton Kutcher Demi Moore Tallulah RumerAsthon Kutcher knows of teenage girls. After all, he drives a carload of them to school every morning. Rather than letting their conversations roll right in one ear and out the other, however, he took notice. "Teens have a pulse on popular culture that is fascinating to younger and older demographics alike," Kutcher said. "We created the Blah Girls to provide a new twist on entertainment themed content."

The Blah Girls, which is the name of Kutcher's and partner Jason Goldberg's newest creation, is an animated series of mini-episodes where three teen girls take on popular culture, in their own unique way. "That is their (teenage girls') voice but we don't make fun of them," insists Kutcher. "We are making a comedic play on the fanatacism of the girls."

Kutcher says he was inspired by his stepdaughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah with wife Demi Moore. The girls probably find it hilarious. You may too, but be warned -- it's definitely Kutcher's style of irreverent humor (think of a girly South Park), so if that turns you off, you're better off ignoring that link.

Rumer Willis not wild about her unusual name

Celeb Kids, Rumors, Playground Bureau

Although it appears to be happening with greater frequency, celebrities giving their children unusual names is not new, just ask Frank Zappa's kids: Moon Unit, Dweezil, Ahmet Emuukha Rodan, or Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen. What is rather unique is hearing what it was like growing up with such a unique moniker.

Rumer Willis, oldest daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis told the New York Post that around the age of 12 she realized she had been given a raw deal name-wise.

"My sisters, Scout and Talullah, had cute nicknames," said Rumer, who apparently had no such luck. "In school, kids would sing, 'Rumer, Rumer with a big hairy tumor.'"

Even aimless doodling on notebook paper didn't work out for the superstar celeb spawn. "When I was 12 and had crushes on guys, I'd put my first name with their last name, but it never sounded right. Rumer Depp? Nope."

Poor kid. She didn't even mention the complete absence of mass-produced personalized key rings available for Rumers at gift shops!

The new Hollywood sex symbol: moms

Bump Watch, Celeb Kids, Celeb Parenting

Twenty years ago, it seems that women in Hollywood were putting off having children as long as possible. Big stars like Madonna and Susan Sarandon were nearly 40-years-old before they had their first child. Motherhood and a Hollywood career didn't really seem to go together. But today, young Hollywood women seem to have decided that they can have it all - a successful career and a family.

While Demi Moore can probably be credited with changing the way we look at pregnant women with her sexy 2006 Harper's Bazaar cover, I think it was Reese Witherspoon who proved that motherhood need not hinder a Hollywood career. When her career was just beginning to heat up, she married and became a mother at the age of 23. She then went on to win an Oscar for her performance in Walk the Line.

"I think it's pro feminist," said E! online gossip columnist Ted Casablanca. "It's all about choice. It's taking the old mold and breaking it. It's saying, 'I will not be defined by my womb.' It's saying, 'I can have a dynamic career and be a dynamic mom at the same time,' rather than saying, 'I have to choose between the two.'"

Since then, more and more women in Hollywood are becoming mothers while still in their 20's. In the case of 26-year-old Christina Aguilera, being pregnant has actually helped her image. The former 'dirty' girl is now the angelic mother-to-be and her bad press has all but disappeared. But others, like newly pregnant 26-year-old Jessica Alba, don't need the image boost that seems to follow a pregnancy announcement. Will she still be considered sexy when she's a mother?

Village Voice gossip columnist Michael Musto thinks so. "The public has gone beyond the Madonna-whore syndrome, where once somebody has given birth, they're not considered sexy anymore," he says. "People are now more willing to embrace the idea of literally a hot mama. And that's what I think she'll be."

Pregnant Aguilera on cover of Marie Claire

Bump Watch, That's Entertainment

Christina Augilera is having a pretty good month. Not only did she make Maxim's Hottest Pregnant Celebrities Ever list, she also landed the cover of Marie Claire in all her nekkid pregnant glory.

Baring it all for magazine while pregnant is still a relatively new phenomeon. Demi Moore created a furor in 1991 when she appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair wearing nothing but jewelery in her final trimester. Some retailors refused to carry the magazine, while others offered in wrapped in brown paper to protect the public from the site of a bare swollen belly.

Since then, many famous expectant moms have bared it all (or nearly all) for magazines, but for some reason an exposed pregnant body still seems to shake the sensibilities of many.

Rumer Willis on avoiding the pitfalls of stardom

Just For Moms, Teens & tweens, Just For Dads, Celeb Kids, Celeb Parenting

Navigating the road to stardom can't be easy for a young person, but give Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's daughter Rumer credit for trying to stay on the straight and narrow. After getting caught up in a drug bust in a hotel room last month in Maryland, she seems to be learning from her mistakes. "Honestly, it's been kind of making mistakes and figuring them out and having a lot of really great people as my mentors," Willis tells Access Hollywood.

She doesn't name any names, but I think we all know who the 19-year-old is referring to when she says, "I see a lot of situations that seem to me to be lacking of a self-respect and a self-value where girls get drunk and they just kind of fall over each other."

I would think the most difficult thing about being a celebrity would be reading all the awful things people write about you - whether they are true or not. Asked if she reads celebrity blogs, she says "I try not to. I used to a lot and it was really hurtful."

Here's to hoping Rumer Willis really can keep it together and avoid the pitfalls of being young, rich and famous. Franky, if Bruce Willis were my dad, I would be a good kid, too.

Rumer Willis caught up in drug bust

Just For Moms, Just For Dads, Celeb Kids, Celeb Parenting, Alcohol & Drugs

Demi Moore's eldest daughter Rumer may not do drugs, but it appears that some of her friends do. The 18-year-old budding actress was in a room at the La Quinta Inn in Aberdeen, Maryland, when the cops showed up, responding to a noise complaint reported by another guest. They smelled marijuana before even entering the room and once inside, discovered a "small amount" of pot and smoking paraphernalia.

The room was registered to 32-year-old Christopher Alan Henry, who was arrested and charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession. Rumer is in town working on the film From Within and Henry works on the set as a key grip. He was the only one arrested and police say the case is closed.

Rumer may be breathing a sigh of relief, but she still has to face dad, Bruce Willis. He recently told Playboy Magazine that his daughters have been warned about experimenting with drugs and that alcoholism runs in the Willis-Moore family. "We have an ongoing conversation," he said. "They have the gene, and we warn them: 'You have a predisposition to be an alcoholic.' It's on her side of the family and mine. It's something to be aware of. My kids are strongly antidrug."

I don't know how Rumer is going to explain this away. If the cops could smell marijuana outside of the hotel room, there is no way that girl didn't know what was going on inside. I sincerely hope she can avoid the drug and alcohol pitfalls that seems to trap so many young girls in Hollywood these days. Perhaps Rumer needs to hightail it back to Hailey, Idaho before it is too late.

Demi Moore wants to "balance out estrogen" in her household

Celeb Parenting, Rumors

Are you a mom in a house full of girls, wishing you had a little man running around? Demi Moore totally hears where you're coming from. She wants a son, becuase she "wouldn't mind a little balancing out of that estrogen.

Moore already has three daughters, ages 18, 15, and 13, so I can see how she might wonder about what it's like to raise a child of the opposite gender. I'm admittedly curious about what it might be like to raise a son -- they just seem so crazy. I can only imagine that it's entertaining.

Although, by the sounds of it, the actress may just be looking to have a child -- period. She "most definitely" wants kids with husband Ashton Kutcher, and said in an interview with Vanity Fair: "Once you hit three, where you're outnumbered, it's really like 'What's the difference between [three of] four or five?'"

Sounds like we'll be announcing her pregnancy any day now.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher up for more, kids that is

Celeb Parenting, Rumors, Media

In a recent interview, Demi Moore candidly chatted about the element of surprise that her relationship with the much younger Kutcher brought to both of them. She also discussed that they are both open and willing to the concept of more children. She rationalized it by saying that once the number of children outnumber the adults, one or two more won't make a serious difference to the family mix.

While I do agree with Moore that once you cross that line of three, anything more is just an element of the chaos. But she likely has nannies, maids, drivers, etc to help with that tumult; that fact alone would make an additional five children an easier transition. But more power to her if she is to brave more children, with her other kids being much older the whole family will get a chance to enjoy any additions.

Demi Moore & Ashton Kutcher adopting?

Adoption, Rumors, Media

Apparently Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, who vehemently deny that Demi is pregnant, now admit that they may consider adoption -- or so the IMDB World Entertainment News Network reports.  Personally, I'm skeptical:  Ashton Kutcher, the mind behind the MTV show "Punk'd," where stars are, basically, duped, is quoted as saying:  "I feel like just having one would be weird. It's unconventional to have a baby just now, you've got to adopt one from Cambodia or something."

Doesn't sound to me like a ringing declaration that they're meeting with social workers just yet.  Watch this space.

Demi Moore's kids know all about grooming!

Media

Demi MooreThis is one of those news items that make you wonder: is the star in question really this vainglorious? Or did the media pull out the most damning part of an hour-long interview to make her look like a tool? For instance, this piece from Contact Music has Demi Moore's kids raving about her sense of style, with daughter Rumer calling her mom "one of the most unbelievably stylish women ever". Well, cool. We'll be sure that People Magazine's Committee for the Most Unbelievably Stylish Hollywood Mother Ever Issue gets the Good Word. But, come on. Surely this isn't the only lavish praise the kids heaped on their mom? It certainly can't be the most important. If you're to believe this interview excerpt, it sounds like the reporter asked the kids what they thought of their mom, and Rumer and Tallulah stared at their feet for 30 solid seconds before it occurred to Rumer to look up and shout, "She's stylish!" - with Tallulah concurring by nodding in furious relief. Surely there's more to recommend Ms. Moore as a mother beyond the fact that she always picks the most couture shoes?
