JLo Spied Without Wedding Ring, Claims Divorce "Not an Option"
Jennifer Lopez left her wedding ring at home last Sunday for the Golden Globes. Marc Anthony has also been out and about sans ring, and has been snapped by photographers chatting up other women and waving his bare left hand around. Sure that means they're on the road to Splitsville! Right?Wrong, says JLo. "Every time I'm not wearing my ring, people think I'm getting divorced," she told In Touch Weekly. "That's crazy! It just didn't go with the dress."
JLo and Marc Anthony, who recently welcomed twins Max and Emme into the world, publicly claim their union is as strong as ever. The songstress even went so far as to say, "Divorce is not - and was never - an option."
This sounds strange coming from a woman who was married twice before, but, hey, this is a different marriage and one that resulted in children. To be fair to JLo and Skeletor, there are times when many of us leave our wedding rings at home.
During the final stages of both my pregnancies my fingers were too swollen to even consider wearing a ring. it's possible Lopez could still be carrying around some baby weight in her fingers and could be having a hard time wearing her ring comfortably. (No, really, she could.) Some of us have been known to remove the ring before doing the dishes or washing our hands and then forget it on the counter. Still others would say that a ring doesn't necessarily to symbolize commitment, and taking it off doesn't mean the marriage is over.
What about you? Have you ever left your wedding ring at home? If so, why?
Jennifer Lopez finishes a triathlon!
In my third trimester, I wasn't inspired to do much more than run to the corner for a pint of Ben & Jerry's. (That is, when I couldn't get my husband to do it for me.) But during those waning days of Jennifer Lopez's pregnancy, something clicked. Feeling "like a beached whale," the expectant mom -- dreaming of the day she got her body back -- went looking for inspiration and found it... in a triathlon."I was watching TV, and I saw a triathlon and I said, 'You know what? I think I could do that, that would be great for me to do. Maybe I'll do it this year.'" This past weekend, the star reached her goal. She finished the Nautica Malibu Triathlon on Sunday in 2 hours, 23 minutes, and 38.8 seconds, raising $127,000 for Children's Hospital of L.A. in the process. She wasn't the only celeb parent there. Matt McConaughy finished the race in 1 hour, 30 minutes, and 44.7 seconds.
Jennifer gave birth to her twins, Max and Emme, just seven months ago. Seven months after I gave birth, I was still trying to get my husband to fetch Ben & Jerry's for me, despite his arguments that I was no longer pregnant. I think that may have something to do with why Jennifer has her pre-baby body back and why mine is still missing.

Jennifer Lopez was selfish for first time during pregnancy
Pregnancy & birth, Celeb parenting
Twins Max and Emme are six-months-old, and mom Jennifer Lopez is sharing how she slowed down once she found out she was pregnant to savor the experience. She told husband Marc Anthony shortly after she found out she was pregnant, "...this is the first time in my life where I'm going to be a little bit selfish. I don't know if I'm going to have kids again, so I want it to be a beautiful experience. I don't want to have any drama. I just want to be smiling every day." She may hail from the block, but it's hard to imagine that this is really the "first" time in her life that blingtastic Jenny has been "selfish." Isn't she the same mom who doesn't let her kids wear the same outfit twice? Still, her life with Marc Anthony is so much more settled and private than it's ever been, and choosing to slow down and be taken care of during her twin pregnancy is evidence of that.
She thanked Marc Anthony for taking up the slack with a book full of photos... of herself. Marc Anthony's a romantic, that's for sure, but after nine long months of cooking meals and picking up after a very pregnant wife, I think that my husband would have been much happier with a pair of hard-to-get basketball tickets instead. Then again, I'm no Jenny Lopez!
Rebecca Romijn's pregnancy cravings
Just for moms, Pregnancy & birth, Eating & nutrition, Bump watch, Life & style, Rumors, That's entertainment, Mealtime

Television and film star Rebecca Romijn has opened up about her pregnancy cravings. The Ugly Betty actress recently announced she and husband Jerry O'Connell are expecting twins, and the cravings brought on by them can't be ignored.
According to Romijn, she is craving lemonade and, of all things, soy cream cheese. Says Romijn, it can't be regular cream cheese--it has to be the soy version. This makes total sense to me only because I am pregnant too. The things your body desires when you're with child have no bearing on rationality! At least lemonade and soy cream cheese are relatively healthy options, compared to, say, cupcakes and pork rinds.
Romijn is among the latest celebrity parents expecting twins. Perhaps she can get in touch with Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez and Julia Roberts to figure out whether it's best to fight the cravings or just give in to them! I say give in, especially with the lemonade. In fact, there is some lemonade in my fridge right now. I have that SAME craving.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's Babies Don't Wear Repeats
Life & style, Celeb parenting, Rumors
It's not uncommon for celebrities to keep track of where and when they've worn their fabulous outfits lest they bore their fans (or the paparazzi) with wardrobe reruns. However, hearing that the infant offspring of a celebrity never wears clothing more than one time is a bit....unusual.
According to the Sun, famous diva/singer/actress Jennifer Lopez never reuses her infant twins clothing, keeping everything new and fresh for..... the household staff, non-nannies, and her husband Marc Anthony.
Whether it's due to extravagance, a pre-emptive measure to keep her kids from becoming too attached to a certain outfit, or a fear of germs, I think that J Lo is shortchanging herself by not allowing memories to form around any piece of clothing. Just seeing the few kid clothing items I've set aside takes me back a time when a my boys had chubby cheeks, were entranced by every ant on the sidewalk and cloud in the sky and wore bib overalls on a daily basis.
On the other hand, can you even imagine how awesome of thrift bonanza it will be when she decides to unload these items?!
JLo and the nanny question
Babies, Money & work, Celeb kids, Life & style, Celeb parenting
Four months after giving birth to twins, Jennifer Lopez looks fabulous. We know she looks fabulous because she has been photographed plenty since the twins were born in February. She and hubby Marc have been spotted at movie premieres, art galleries, fashion shows and more. But wait. Where, exactly are those twin bundles of joy while mom and dad are out on the town? Lopez has insisted that she does not have a nanny, so just who is minding the children?Former Hollywood nanny Suzanne Hansen says Lopez' nanny denial is all about semantics. She may not have an on-staff person who she refers to as 'nanny', but she sure as heck isn't hiring the teenager next door to watch little Max and Emme while she hits the town. More likely, she is making use of her other household staff to keep an eye on the tots while she and Marc socialize.
"She probably has other people-not called nannies-who are taking care of her children," Hansen says. "She has assistants, housekeepers-someone like that who probably also likes kids and who is likely keeping an eye on them."
Hansen goes on to say that by denying that she has a nanny, Lopez is insulting our intelligence. I don't know about you, but I do not feel insulted. What I feel is closer to, oh, I don't know - envy? Lopez can call it what she wants, but I know that if I had a gazillion dollars and a mansion, I would have some hired help, too.
Is Ashlee Simpson having TWINS?
Pregnancy & birth, Bump watch, Rumors

Hear that sound? That's the rumor mill rolling again. This time it's in the direction of Ashlee Simpson. Word has it that the newly-married singer is set to follow in the footsteps of Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lopez and Angelina Jolie by having twins.
The breaker of the news? Her new husband, rocker Pete Wentz. In a recent radio interview with Arizona's John Jay and Rich, Wentz apparently referred to his unborn child as "them," sparking the rumors. Wentz was quick to respond to the rumors saying that it was early in the morning and since he didn't know it the baby was boy or girl he mistakenly referred to the unborn child as "them."
Only time will tell how many little Simpson-Wentzes are in Ashlee's skinny belly. My guess? It really just is one. But hey--you never know! Good luck, Ashlee and Pete!
Jennifer Lopez NOT trotting out the babies on TLC
Just for moms, Celeb kids, Celeb parenting, Rumors, That's entertainment
The confusion is understandable. Last week TLC released press materials describing the planned 'docuseries' featuring Lopez as one that will "deliver a slice of [Lopez's] life that audiences have never seen before, as she takes on her career and launches a new fragrance while trying to juggle her new responsibilities as a first-time mom."
Today, we have her manager chiming in with clarification. "The recent show Jennifer Lopez plans to produce for TLC is not a reality show," says Simon Fields. "It's a show that will track the creation, production and eventual launch of a new fragrance. Jennifer will appear in a creative, entrepreneurial capacity and will absolutely not feature her children and family life."
I am glad that Lopez isn't going to be exploiting her children but am now wondering just who will watch this new show. Frankly, seeing Lopez working in a "creative, entrepreneurial capacity" sounds a little boring to me. Where's the drama in that?
Jennifer Lopez trotting out the babies on TLC
Babies, Celeb kids, Celeb parenting
And then came the babies and a big-money deal with People for exclusive photos of the newborn twins. Hmmm. She couldn't possibly need the money, so why on earth would she do that? It could it be that she's just so proud of her beautiful little babies that she wants to show them off. But my money is on a different theory: Jennifer Lopez misses the attention.
That theory is backed up by the news that Jennifer is now set to star in a new television show on TLC. It's a reality show and it is all about - you guessed it - JLo's personal life. Lopez is the star and co executive producer of the show which promises to "deliver a slice of [Lopez's] life that audiences have never seen before, as she takes on her career and launches a new fragrance while trying to juggle her new responsibilities as a first time mom."
I know Jennifer Lopez is a celebrity and seeking attention is what she does. But I just cannot get my head around her desire to put her kids on display like this. She herself has acknowledged the need for privacy when it comes to living a normal life. Why wouldn't she want her kids to have that privacy?
J Lo's babies: already living lifestyles of the rich and famous?
Health & safety, Celeb kids, Life & style, Celeb parenting, Rumors
On the one hand, reports that Jennifer Lopez hired a "color therapist" to paint her new babies nursery in a color said to have intelligence boosting properties (aquamarine and light blue, if you'd like to try it yourself), and has purchased diamond-studded rattles and Shetland ponies for her newborns seem a bit far fetched.
However, looking back at J Lo's baby registry and princess-like backstage requirements for a 90 minute contribution to a charity concert give the tales of extravagant 600 count Egyptian cotton cot linen crib sheets that will be pooped, peed, and barfed on every night an air of believability.
Sources also say that gifts and flowers for the babes and kept far from the sterile nursery and that visitors are asked to wear hospital gowns and face masks. Now, if I had gobs of money, that's would have been where I'd have spent it! The only thing more miserable than taking care of a newborn when sick is if the baby is ill.
J Lo's baby names
Newborns, Babies, Pregnancy & birth, Celeb kids, Celeb parenting
If you've been agonizing what names to have embroidered on the cashmere baby blankets you got off Jennifer Lopez's baby registry, worry no more. Lopez's manager Simone Fields gave official word to People magazine that the newborns twins are named Max and Emme.
The babies arrived on February 22nd with Emme born at 12:12 a.m. and weighing 5 lbs. 7 oz., and Max following at 12:23 a.m., weighing 6 lbs.
Emme and Max are really nice names, but if I was an actress with a set of boy/girl twins, I'd have gone with the award winning name combination of Emmy and Oscar.
Jennifer Lopez spends $1.4 million giving birth
Pregnancy & birth, Bump watch, Celeb kids, Celeb parenting
According to several sources online, the cost of giving birth in the U.S. averages just under $9,000. So, how do you stretch that number to $1.4 million? JLo did it by shelling out $700,000 for a luxury birthing suite, spending $300,000 on private doctors and nurses, adding on another $300,000 for security and topping it all off with $100,000 in salaries for personal assistants during her pregnancy.
Deduct that from the reported $6 million Lopez is being paid for exclusive pictures of her babies and she still ends up making a nice profit.
It's official: J Lo gives birth!
Newborns, Pregnancy & birth, Bump watch, Celeb kids, Celeb parenting, Rumors

Early this morning Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony welcomed twins into the world. It was after much speculation that JLo gave away the truth behind her bubble gut this past November.
And it was only confirmed recently, after much curiousity and tabloid rumorism, that she was indeed carrying twins. JLo delivered the twins, a girl and a boy, right here in her hometown of New York City. No names have been shared yet and I'm not sure if the babies were delivered via C section or natural birth.
Rumors had circulated for many months prior to her pregnancy that JLo was having fertility problems. The twins are her first children with Marc Anthony, who has three children from a previous marriage.
Congratulations to JLo and Marc Anthony on their wonderful news!

Jessica Alba-TWINS?!
Not only is the internet awash with either new or gestating babies as Kristin noted earlier, Hollywood is also brimming with bonnets and booties and yet another celebrity is said to be expecting a pair of babes instead of a singleton.
Jessica Alba might be gearing up to be the newest member of the Famous Mothers with Twins club that so far includes: Julia Roberts, Marcia Cross, possibly Angelina Jolie, and Jennifer Lopez who should be having her babies ...................at any moment now.
According to a friend, "Knowing that she's going to have twins has turned Jessica's life upside down. She and (fiance) Cash have had to scrap plans for a one-baby nursery and start all over again." The friend also said the couple avoided finding out the sex of their babies so far and slipped out a due date: June 8th.
Twins always sounded like so much fun. Two babies! Double the cuteness and joy! And then there was that fateful trip when that I drove my pregnant self to the lakeside cottage of a girlfriend who had just had a pair of babies. I quickly learned that newborn twins means one of them needs something at all times.
I'm not exaggerating when I say my friend was nursing nearly the entire time I was there, while the rest of us (her husband, her mother-in-law, and me) took turns holding, diapering, walking, burping, cleaning and redressing the other baby until it was obvious THEY wanted to eat too.
I left the cottage earlier than originally planned due to complete exhaustion, rubbing my one-inhabitant-only belly in gratitude all the way home. Mothers of multiples amaze me.
JLo's $6 million twins

Lopez' rep says she's heard talk but doesn't actually confirm the story. People doesn't deny it, either. In fact, People managing editor Larry Hackett says, "Readers have to know that when there's a huge picture, a baby, a wedding, some life moment, People magazine is the place that you're going to find that."
Of this baby picture selling trend, Ad Age's Nat Ives said: "Graydon Carter was once famously accused of putting Paris Hilton on Vanity Fair's cover because she represented 'newsstand crack'. "Now we see the next generation: newsstand crack babies."
I have to say that as much as I love me some celebrity gossip and especially enjoy looking at their photos, I have never once bought a magazine just for the celeb baby pictures. Apparently I am in the minority there.
